Guest HRB853370 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 As promised, here are photos of the "new" T-Cherry 535 that was delivered Friday. You won't see evidence of the little F hole touch up paint in these pics. I took time to polish her up and she looks purty.

That's one of the prettier red 535s I've seen posted here. I just love how dark the finger board is. Forgive me for saying this if it hurts you . . . but, that guitar really screams . . . Gibson vintage!! I'm kind if thinking the Lee Ritenour album cover on The Captain's Journey. http://music.aol.com/album/the-captains-journey/113241 Beautiful guitar!! Congrats and enjoy it.

Thank you for the compliment Patrick, you're right it sure does look vintage Gibson- the guy I got it from was going exactly for that look, but he was out looking for an old 335 which is why he turned this one. I think that MOJOTONE wiring harness really works, the tone is crystal clear at whisper volumes. BTW-I turned the 137 this weekend-had to in order to get this one! Sorry!
smurph1 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 SWEET!! My first semi was a late 60's Epi..(and yes it was red..) I loved that guitar, and I bet you'll love this one for years to come..rock ON!!

Guest HRB853370 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Excellent... great porn. That one is sweet.. it begs to be played. Fred, your enhancement talents are always appreciated! I'll be saving those to my hard drive. Its got 57 classic pups in it. As far as sound, I have only played it once so far...was very pleased with the sound. The real test will be later on today into my Gibson GA40rvt-can't wait!!!
donnie Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Hey skin, that's a beaut, congrats! 'Course, I am a little prejudiced toward cherry these days...
koula901 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 That's a fine looking T Cherry guitar, Will. I like the black speed knobs.
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Nice Pleased with noise it makes? So far yes. It came with 9's on it, and I prefer 10's so not sure if changing strings will affect sound at all. Does anybody think it will?
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 That's a fine looking T Cherry guitar, Will. I like the black speed knobs. Thanks Katy, I do too as they match the pickguard nicely. I normally like the tophat knobs on Heritages, but not on this one.
jjkrause84 Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Glad ya got one skinslammer! Looks like a real winner to me.
LK155 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Beautius maximus, Will. Now you are a member of the Trans.Cherry club-within-a-club. Enjoy.
Gitfiddler Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Very Red and Very Nice, Will. Hey, I noticed that the input jack is sticking out farther than what appears normal. Is it the angle of the shot or does she have an outtee belly button?
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Very Red and Very Nice, Will. Hey, I noticed that the input jack is sticking out farther than what appears normal. Is it the angle of the shot or does she have an outtee belly button? Thanks Git, yes its fire engine red! Great observation on the jack. As part of the Mojotone wiring harness, the switchcraft jack accompanied it to replace the factory one! I kind of like it cuz I can find the hole easier than with one that is flush (that didn't come out right but you get what I mean).
ronalr Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 that is a gorgeous 535...looks perfect to me ... a real classic...congratulations
Guest HRB853370 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 that is a gorgeous 535...looks perfect to me ... a real classic...congratulations Hi Ron- you have to be right on top of it to see any imperfections. Nothing major. Its a keeper!
Doug Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 She looks so sexy all splayed out on the bed like that. That is one sweet cherry.
skydog52 Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Wow! Nice one Will. I've always loved that color. Red is hard to tell in pictures, is it solid or transluscent? They always look better in person.

mark555 Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 That guitar is the epitome of class! Yes, I think heavier strings always give better tone, go for the 10's.
