bolero Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 hey does heritage make a thinner 575 type body with a center block? similar to the gibby 135? I believe they're 3" thick
JohnCovach Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I've got a Gibson 137 and a Heritage 576 and they are very similar. The 137 has more frets clear of the cutaway, so access up the neck is better. The 576 has a floating block, so it's not a traditional center block. A 135 only differs structurally from the 137 by virtue of the trapeze tailpiece, right? The 137 has a stop tailpiece. The 576 shape is not the same as the 574, however. More like half a 535.
bolero Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 ah, I had a 576 but sold it because of the bad upper fret access...I couldn't fit my gorilla hand in that small cutaway, it was awkward. fantastic guitar though 137 has a stop tailpiece & mahagony center block, 135 floating TP has balsawood block, as it doesn't need the structural strength to hold the posts thx John!! ps why did this get posted 3 times? I got a board error when I posted & just hit refresh...next thing I know there are 3 topics here!!
bolero Posted February 23, 2011 Author Posted February 23, 2011 from other thread Tim "Maybe the Henry Johnson model? I think that is still available...says so on the website anyway. " yes, I think the HJ is the same as the 576?
bolero Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 ah...the 525 is close..P90's though http://www.heritageguitar.com/models/h525osb_specs.html
Gitfiddler Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 ah...the 525 is close..P90's though http://www.heritageg...5osb_specs.html Add humbuckers and a center block to the H525 and you would have something close to the ES135...only MUCH better!
