duaneallen Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 So after looking for the right used one, I decided to get a new one at a great price from Eddie's Guitars. Its a vintage sunburst. I'm psyched, can't wait to get her. Hope that I like it. Don't know how to post pics here, wish I could. It's still on Eddies site if you must see it. I'll keep you all posted.

If so, you did good! Congratulations. Eddie's H-150CM
FredZepp Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Yeah , the humbucker VSB 150 looks awesome in the pics....
Patrick Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Hey Duane . . . that is a purely classic '59 LP looking guitar. If you put a Gibson pick guard and a thin poker chip on that guitar . . .OUCH!!! It also has the largest heel on a Heritage H150 I've ever seen. It's beautiful . . . I love it!!
Blunote Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Awesome looking guitar. Make sure you post a full report once it's in your hands.
Blunote Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 I needed the practice posting images. This it?
H Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Fantastic guitar - well done Quite dark for a VSB, would be interesting to see what it says inside the control plate.

duaneallen Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 I had a question by the way. How would you know if a guitar is weight relieved, would it have some indication in the control cavity? Also, I see that many descriptions of 150s show that they are made with Honduran Mahogany, and others don't specify. Are all 150s made with Honduran Mahogany, or to they have to be ordered like that? Just wondering.

Just wondering. The control cavity has 3 of the 4 sides. The 4th is removed in the weight relief process. Edit: Oh! They are all made of Honduran mahogany unless it's a 150 "P"
duaneallen Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 Oh, I forgot to ask. I notice that some 150s have the cream colored tuners. Who makes drop in cream colored replacement tuners for Grovers? Thanks.
H Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 TonePros Kluson do the cream tulip shaped tuners. You'll need to drill an extra hole for each gear case. Easy job though - I've done all three of mine. Pics in my gallery.
duaneallen Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 Me too. I hate buying a new Heritage, because of resale and all. I'm not planning on flipping it or anything, but a lot of guitars have been coming and going the past few years. I hope this ones a keeper. I'm a player, first and foremost, and play the hell out of my guitars; but if I'm not totally in love with something it doesn't last very long. There's just too many great guitars out there.
DetroitBlues Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 When I thought about ordering a brand new one, the tag was $2200. Not $3100 and that was just last fall.

koula901 Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Fantastic guitar - well done Quite dark for a VSB, would be interesting to see what it says inside the control plate. I agree - it looks more like an almond sunburst to me - I love this color.
duaneallen Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Got it in today! Plays and sounds fantastic. Looks gorgeous, quite different than the pics show, much darker and a little more orangy. I really dig it. Took it to a blues jam tonight and had fun. It needs a setup though, no biggie. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the year. It was bought new, and the serial number starts with AA. Would that make it a 2010? Thanks.
H Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Could you have a look on the inside of the control plate and tell us what the colour is please? AA is 2010 according to the pinned item at the head of this forum. Enjoy!
