Have enjoyed you guys joking with us recently joined Brits.

I will arrive in Newark airport this week Weds lunchtime, will work in Princeton all day Thurs and then have all Friday before flying home late. I have cash to buy a Heritage (see other thread re UK prices). Where do I go to get a guitar? The only New York dealer on the official Heritage website with a web address doesn't seem to stock Heritage! Any advice?

Love this site!

It's got to be said that with all the recent European additions to the membership, we are HAULING that Heritage wood over the Pond! ;)

Maybe Patrick knows. Or, Maybe Brent could give them a call and ask who carries Heritage Guitars in the New York/New Jersey area.

'Ello Governor,

You may try posting in the Buy/Sell/Trade section of the forum. You may never know what you'll find in certified, pre-owned Heritages. It appears you'll have to be quick with your timeline and find someone from the east coast willing to drive. Sounds like fun!

Keep us abreast :downtown: Cheers!

Hello bobw, I live in NJ about 1 hr East of Princeton. We had a dealer a little south of me (Music Boutique, Somers Point, NJ) that just closed down, I called him about 2 months ago, he had stock left over, maybe he is reachable, I think another member lives down that way (Squwken ..spelling may be off). There is another small dealer, actually my guitar tech, Steve Hayes (Steve's Studio), 91 Jordon RD, Colonia NJ, also maybe 1-1.25 hrs east of Princeton, kind of on your way back to Newark airport. He usually has several (I think last time I was there he had a sweet 16, Golden Eagle, 535 and maybe a 150. Here is a link from a post by a member here regarding him. his phone # is 1-732-382-3557. PM me if you like. I have 4 Heritages, haven't really considered selling any but who knows. Little pressed for time, I'll be around later.

Here is a link for dealers from the Heritage site. Keep in mind, Princeton is close to Pennsylvania so that may be an option for you as well. I just searched the Craigs List for my area found nothing though. If you have time, and if you would consider buying used, do a search on Craigs List and cover Pennsylvania and the New York City region (Newark Is near NYC). There where a few recently in the for sale / bay watch section in this area but they appear to be gone. Have you checked e bay for something around here?

Again, some good advice Hfan. Thanks for taking the time.

I'll look into what you say. Need to find Craig's List on this site, I presume.

One problem with being a foreigner is knowing how to get to places. It'll take me some time with a map. I'll be back to let you know what happens.

Thanks for dealer list. None of them have a website, though. I mailed Heritage direct, but no reply. I've also mailed a number of guitar storesin New York. again, no reply. Money growing on trees over there?

Thanks for help

Music Boutique went out of business almost 2 months ago. You must have caught him on one of his last days. I believe he sold everything at auction.

Sorry, See you responded. Craigs list is not on this forum, it is a free classified listing site here in the states. Here is a link to the one in my area: http://jerseyshore.craigslist.org/msg/

Here is their main site: http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites

found this one (H150) in Medford Lakes NJ a little east of Philadelphia http://southjersey.craigslist.org/msg/2236857203.html

If Patrick is around he probably has some good thoughts on this. Tbonessullivan is another NJ member, maybe he has some ideas.

When in Rome (roam)... In the states, we often navigate with Google maps:

http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

It's a good way to find places and roads to get you there. If you make it to Detroit, let me know. We'll share a teatime :icon_thumleft:

Hi Hfan,

Thanks for all your help. I'm amazed at your response and support. How come the guitar stores aren't so good at getting back?

I've sent off mails and left a phone message according to your suggestions. Now it's a question of hearing back before I'm in the air. Even if I don't get a guitar this time, I've learned how to improve my search. Many thanks.

Hi Steiner,

Thanks for the tip. My old parchment map is a little stained now - there's a blob of cream from my last afternoon tea at Betty's right on the bit where it says "British colony".

Bottoms up!

Hi Bob, Even in the states, Heritages are sometimes hard to come by. The New York / NJ area may be more so. Some of the links on the Heritage site may be old. Have you called Heritage?

Keep trying Steve, he definitely had some new ones. They have been there for a while. He is more of a Luthier / Tech then a retailer. I linked a used 150 for you in NJ Craigs List , also linked a used Roy Clark 535 in NY somewhere here or the for sale section it ( the 535) was on e bay, pretty high price but who knows. Search the various Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, Craigs lists as well as E Bay. Do you want new or used? What models?

If you get to the states periodically, you may do better with a little more advance planning.

Feel free to PM me if I can help. Good luck.

hey up Bob, welcome 'ere from another Yorkshireman, there are now three of us Tykes here on this forum. Where in York are you? I see you mention Betty's tea rooms, which I only mentioned here a couple of days back in an attempt to bring some culture to our American brethren! (they are an excellent lot). I am down in not so sunny Huddersfield, and we have Peter over in North Ferriby.

Hope you find a nice guitar to bring home with you, then Yorkshire, which we all know is the centre of the known universe, will have the highest amount of HOC members in the UK. Great to have you hear and we shall look forward to reading more posts and seeing pic's of your guitar - which one are you after?

Hi bobw,

If you want to drive about 2 -3 hours you could try Middletown Music in Delaware. I bought a Golden Eagle & my brother bought a Super Eagle from Middletown Music. The last time I was there they had a Kenny Burell a 535 and either a 140 or 150. Ask for Jay he is the owner and was great to deal with. Also in Delaware there's no sales tax so you should probably save about 6%. Here is a link to their website www.middletownmusic.com
