jjkrause84 Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Hey guys. Been playing my 535 recently and whlie I'm still firmly in love I find that there are certain things it can't do that my Tele can. Now, obviously, you can't have a guitar that truly does it all, but the recent thread about that Prospect got me wondering....does anyone have a HEritage with a 25.5 scale length? I think a Prospect with one and P90s might be a VERY interesting guitar.....
FredZepp Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 ....does anyone have a HEritage with a 25.5 scale length? ... I do... It is an 18" body with 4" depth...
mars_hall Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 The Stats are 25.5" scales and there are a few around here, including big_bob's and mine
drfie Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I have a 150 special, poplar body, maple top, maple neck, 25.5 scale. Duncan 59s. It actually sounds a little like a tele with the switch in the middle position. dan
Steiner Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 The Eagles and Sweet 16 are 25.5' scale. I do... It is an 18" body with 4" depth... Oh! My, what a stunning guitar. You find the best porn

I was even thinking that P-Rails would give you a single coil sound, as well as the P-90 and humbucker.
Steiner Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 B2 is your 575 non-cutaway a 15.5 scale? Doesn't that make it a Sweet 16? Perhaps you should petition for a new label...
big bob Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 B2 is your 575 non-cutaway a 15.5 scale? Doesn't that make it a Sweet 16? Perhaps you should petition for a new label... Steiner a 15.5 scale would be a mandolin... and yes I've always wondered about the classification of the noncut. 25.5 scale 16" bout 3.5 " rim thickness tap tuned spruce top 1 pc mahogany back ebony board 575 custom

Steiner Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Good god Man! Is that the Geico gecko hiding in the amazing hydrangea preparing to play your Heritage?!!! Beautiful guitar! I'm fondly looking forward to PSP IV!
big bob Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I do... It is an 18" body with 4" depth... Hey Fred, measure the depth through the f-hole, my 575 no cut is 4' deep measured through the f-hole. the top and back arch are pretty severe. wonder what the centurion would measure out as.
totonka Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Hey Fred, measure the depth through the f-hole, my 575 no cut is 4' deep measured through the f-hole. the top and back arch are pretty severe. wonder what the centurion would measure out as. FOUR FEET DEEP?!!!!! My God man, how do you wrap your arms around it?
big bob Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 FOUR FEET DEEP?!!!!! My God man, how do you wrap your arms around it? my bad, 4" deep.
drfie Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 FOUR FEET DEEP?!!!!! My God man, how do you wrap your arms around it? John Lennon once asked a luthier if he could build him a flat top acoustic large enough so that he could crawl in and play it from the inside. dan
DetroitBlues Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I do... It is an 18" body with 4" depth... Wow! Love that headstock!
Bluzman54 Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I believe the H550 is 25 1/2 inch also....I know the one I owned did. Jim C
MartyGrass Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 We all love pics, so here goes. Most of the HB archtops are 25.5" scales. Here's a Golden Eagle. But only one is a 25" scale! And only one of these in the world has the image of a mouse in the pickguard.
DetroitBlues Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 That's a really cool ink blot test on the pickguard.... Does look like a mouse!
MartyGrass Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I think all Johnny Smiths are 25 scale. That's true. But the only 25" Heritage is the JS (as far as I know). The custom mouse was a huge upcharge and can never be replicated. That mouse had to hold that pose for hours for the image to be set in wood. Then the mouse and the artist were shot. Heritage will go to any lengths for their customers.
Kuz Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Johnny Hilland played a 535 at the Heritage booth last year at NAMM that was a special made 25.5". He said it was one of the finest instruments he ever played. There was even thought of an endorsement deal (of course I am sure Musicman, his current endorser, probably had something to do with that thought). I wonder if Johnny ever bought that guitar??? A good question for PSPIV!!!!
dantahoua Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 Would love to try a 535 or 150 with 25,5 scale. But be huge sounding!
Connor Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I just measured my H-550. It's a 25.5 inch scale. Just a comment off topic...... Every time I look at one of these threads, I am just amazed at how beautiful these Heritage guitars are.... Every single one of them!
