jmb27 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 congrats on the new axe ..... looks like you've made a great decision 8)
rooster Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Beautiful guitar, Bobo. Being a Heritage player is a great thing to be. rooster.
pushover Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Congrats.. It will be well worth the little extra wait, once you receive it. Don't know what you're currently playing, but I moved from a g-word LP to my Heritage and it was quite amazing how much better the Heritage felt. I know you'll enjoy it.. All the best,
bobo62 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks guys, I've been looking around for ages for a H-150 in my price range and in the right color. So happy to have found one. I think this one is a 2007, what pickups come standard on these?
bobo62 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks Pushover. This is actually my first LP. I've been rocking a G&L Legacy, Reverend Slingshot and Rickenbacker 360 the last few years.
fxdx99 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Yes, yes, yes... that is one fine lookin' gee-tar there Bobo!! A huge Congrats to ya. Stock pickups are Shaller, but (kinda hard to tell in the pic) it LOOKS like you have different pickups... since the bridge also looks like the non-standard 'vintage' style, may have SDs in it. Wolfe (large Fla dealer) gets many (all?) of his guitars set up in this fashion and many have Duncan pickups. If it's a single screw on either side of the pickup, it's likely not Schaller (which usually has 2 screws on each side of the pickup). Beautiful finish, too - I'm sure you're gonna love it!! Cheers, rw
bobo62 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Thank you! Yes, I have a feeling this guitar comes with Duncans. It was a bit tricky getting info out of the dude I got it from, so I just commited to buy without knowing what year exactly (its apparently new) and what pickups. I'll likely end up changing the pups at some point to wome wolfetones, sheptones or bare knuckles.
cosmikdebriis Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 If it's a single screw on either side of the pickup, it's likely not Schaller (which usually has 2 screws on each side of the pickup). To confuse the matter further... Pickups with 2 screws could be HRW's as well as Schaller as they are made by the same company. The only way to tell is to unscrew the surrounds remove the pickups and look on the back. The Schaller ones have "Schaller" "made in Germany" engraved on the back. HRW's have a gold sticker covering that. Below is a pic from our ever growing resource. Which is exactly what the resource is for 8) (Top=HRW Bottom=Schaller). http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll185/Heritageguitarpics/Details/hrwschaller.jpg[/img] There are plenty of posts on the merits of various pickups on a 150 but, at the end of the day, it's what you like that matters, so enjoy your guitar and if you get a moment, please consider adding some pics to our "Photobucket" resource. A white switch would have a black tip and a black switch would have a white tip. My Millennium with HRW's, notice the white switch tip. http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh98/SouthpawGuy/millenium_01.jpg[/img] Notice also what a fiiiiiine geeeeeetar it is ;D
chico Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Nice one! I too have a H150 CM-CL (yours appears to be the "CL" too w/the SD '59 pickups, like mine). Looks to be antique burst, also like mine. Yours has the different bridge hardware (wish mine had your setup, I have the Schaller bridge). Mine is an "S" model. Congrats, you have a winner..keep the SDs, you will like them. Hopefully it arrives asap. Memo to the rest of the group: I will get my photos up on P-bucket when I get a minute...tx.. Chico H150sma.jpg H150sma.jpg_thumb H150smb.jpg H150smb.jpg_thumb
SouthpawGuy Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Nice guitar you have coming to you bobo. A full tone report and more pics will be "expected" upon arrival

This is just what I need. God knows how I'm going to remember all this. I may just have tpo start a thread to collect info... Hmm... Looks likely Oh, and as if to corroborate your info... My 150 with HRWs has a white switch tip with black dot... 8)
bobo62 Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks guys, I'll be sure to give a tone report when it arrives. What does the CL stand for when you say H-150cm-cl? Yeah, I'm 99% sure its got the Duncan 59s...which is the same as Slash uses I think? LOL a better pic http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k175/bobo62/PICT2171.jpg[/img]
bobo62 Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Well, it arrived about half an hour ago - I'm at work though in an open plan office, so its hard to play without distracting everyone. What a good day - the UPS van also dropped off a brand new Larrivee D60, fresh from the factory. ;D ;D ;D

Slash uses the Duncan Alnico 2 Pro pickups in all of his guitars but the 59's sound great as well. Enjoy the 150!
cosmikdebriis Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Yes... And enjoy the pickups too... I prefer them to the HRW's but then again... It's all a matter of personal preference... Watch out.... Here come the pickup police... :police: ;D
Thundersteel Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 the UPS van also dropped off a brand new Larrivee D60, fresh from the factory. Need to see pics of that one as well!
yoslate Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Congratulations, bobo! Superb plank, very nice color!! From the pics, the hardware looks nickle plated, and slightly tarnished. I love that look...very warm. Enjoy! 8)
