TheNewGuy75 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Hello, I'm a bit new here, so forgive me if this is an old question. I'm thinking of ordering a Heritage (probably a 535). Anyone have any pictures of a vintage white, bone white, or similar color? Does Heritage do a vintage white? Thanks in advance. DV
FredZepp Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Welcome.. And a good question there. The Heritage website does still list White Opaque as a finish.. We had heard that they weren't doing it anymore, but who knows what can be ordered if you really want it.
tulk1 Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Here's my white H555. As Fred pointed out, we were told they weren't doing solid white anymore. However, we've had reports of people seeing white finishes in the racks after we were told no more whities. So, yeah, ask 'em.

DetroitBlues Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 You'd think solid colors were offered more often since they won't require highly figured wood.

I think, just think mind you, that the bursts, trans colors are actually easier to do. If any of the finishes could be considered "easy". I know one reason we were told they were dropping the white was that is was so difficult to get the color spread evenly over the wood. And it tended to emphasis any minor imperfections.
ledzef Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Thought solid white was only going to be a custom option?
barrymclark Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 The white on that 555 is just slick. Looks classy.
JackBaruth Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I don't know if this means anything, but when I toured Gibson Memphis they noted that the only solidbody guitars they make on the premises are * the EDS-1275 * The Les Paul Custom in white. Apparently painting guitars in plain white is tough business. So if you buy a new LPC in any color but white it's Nashville, but if you buy white it's Memphis.
kidsmoke Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I wouldn't have thought so, but that 555 is amazing. I love the black line binding on the body and the f-holes. What's the vintage and what are the p'ups, tulk? *edit* nevermind, I'm impatient, I went and found it in the gallery. Very, very cool.

donnie Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 I've been kinda wondering about this myself. Is it likely that Heritage would charge the same for a color (Goldtop is what I was thinking) as a figured top then? Or maybe even more??
