cosmikdebriis Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Ok... so as part of my continued efforts to get a database of Heritage makes and models... I'm starting this thread with the idea of collecting as much information as possible in one thread. The idea is to get anyone and everyone to post as much info as possible here. Doesn't matter how important it may seem and just about anything H related will do. To give an idea... I learned something from Southpaw today... Heritages with HRW's have a dot on the end of the selector switch tip. 8) Another one might be. HRW's are made by Schaller. We're still not exactly certain where they are modified but posting a statement like this may well turn up an answer. Here's another example... The H150=P has a poplar body. To this someone might add the thickness... or even when it was made from and until... You may wish to ask a question... For instance I'd like to know when the black backed headstock ended? Or perhaps have info on the changing horn shape of the 170's Please post anything and everything, feel free to correct each other debate things or whatever. I appreciate a lot of this information is already posted here but in order for me to collate it, it's going to be much easier to gather it on one thread... Please help...
Thundersteel Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 CM = Curly Maple LW = Light Weight (weight relieved--hollowed out) PTD (as in the H525PTD) = not really sure. I'm assuming P = P90 pups, T = Thin; but I don't know what the D stands for. HRW = Heritage Rendal Wall
SouthpawGuy Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 LH = Left handed ;D sorry cosmik couldn't resist, it's in my contract ;D ;D ;D
cod65 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 LH = Left handed ;D what ? who ? did somebody say 'left-handed' ?
SouthpawGuy Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Seriously though .... My 535 bought from Jay is not a standard production 535 as it has "vintage" hardware. This is reflected in the label inside the guitar. It says Heritage Guitars Custom Shop, Golden Amber LH http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh98/SouthpawGuy/535lh01.jpg[/img] Perhaps this should be noted in the database of models.
Thundersteel Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 ALL my Heritages say "Heritage Custom Shop." Hmmm.....interesting.....
cosmikdebriis Posted April 9, 2008 Author Posted April 9, 2008 Thank you all... Exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for... 8) Regards Left Handers... I'm left handed myself but play the guitar the "proper" way. I find the strap fits better as there's no chip on my shoulder to get in the way... ;D ;D :-* However, in the interests of political correctness and so as not to ignore the minorities. A small space at the bottom of the last page will contain some trivial data relating specifically to their impairment. ;D

AnH555 Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 There's a theory that the serial number relates to what day of the year the guitar was made, counting down backwards from 365.
Gitfiddler Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 How about copying the various links to the Heritage website for some of the basic information. Surprisingly, some of this stuff is not known by some players. For example: http://www.heritageguitar.com/DateHeritage.htm http://www.heritageguitar.com/products/customize.htm http://www.heritageguitar.com/Custom%20Features/D-VIP.htm http://www.heritageguitar.com/products/finishes.htm http://www.heritageguitar.com/Custom%20Fea.../HRW-pickup.htm Or even obscure details such as this: RE: Heritage Golden Eagle Model---- We will no longer be using the registration numbering system on the this model. This was only being done for the first 1000 guitars.
cosmikdebriis Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Early Heritages seem to have a bell shaped truss rod cover some with two screws, some with three.. Anyone know any more... Please add it here...
cosmikdebriis Posted April 16, 2008 Author Posted April 16, 2008 H 357 Firebird weighs 8lbs Schaller pups Schaller roller bridge and tailpiece Schaller tuners Mahogany body/nech Thru neck? Rosewood fretboard Dot inlays. Metallic blue
slider313 Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 CM = Curly Maple LW = Light Weight (weight relieved--hollowed out) PTD (as in the H525PTD) = not really sure. I'm assuming P = P90 pups, T = Thin; but I don't know what the D stands for. HRW = Heritage Rendal Wall I believe the "D" stands for double pickup and the "P" for poplar.
