jmac Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 I have a 20th Anniversity H150 that I love. Its the only Heritage 150 I have ever played. Is this model supposed to be like a custom shop G****n or is just another great guitar from Heritages that has 20th Anniversity on the head stock. I would love another 20th Anniversity with P90's but that might be hard to find. Should I just look for a H150 that I really like and trust that the guitar will be as good as the 20th Anniveristy? Thanks John
Kuz Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Yes, there is no difference in quality in a regular 150 and a 20th Anniv (just a cosmetic designation). And BTW, you NEED a P-90 150!!!!!

I don't think any of us here would have figured you'd ever say that, John. .....................................

Thanks John All of the Heritages are more similiar to a custom shop Gibby. The Kalamazoo plant was the custom shop for Gibson when they had both Nashville and Kalamazoo running for a while. They did the small specialty runs while Nashville put out a high volume of guitars. The Heritage plant now makes a small number of instruments a year , because they are crafting them like they did in the Golden Years of Gibson. The 20th Anniversary editions are certainly great examples of the wonderful instruments coming from Kalamazoo. But it's hard to say that you'll like every 150 as well as you do your 20th Anni. There are factors of thicker/ thinner necks or heavy/ lighter woods that may make you like one more than another. I love them all, I find them a work of art and an impressive piece of craftsmanship.
H Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 +1 Fred. John, try a few out - there's bound to be another one with your name on it out there

Thanks John Unless you're specifically hunting for a used one... Heritage is a custom shop! If you know what it is you love so much about your 20th Anniversary... take the specs up with a Heritage Dealer and ask for the same setup. You should be able to recreate it's P90 twin brother (less perhaps the 20th Anni inlay)
