Scam Alert!

Recently I posted that I was looking to buy an H575 and asked to have PM's sent if anyone had one for sale.

I have received emails from a new member that says he has one for sale, sent pictures, and keeps asking for my address. Here's the scam....he is using picyures of an H575 listed on eBay by another seller. I asked him about the photos and he is telling me that the photos/guitar look similar but are actually different. I asked him to send me photos of the back and he sends me the exact photo (car in background) found in the eBay listing. Unbeknownst to him I have been communicating with the actual Seller and it is not this guy sending photos. The guy sending photos is located in Spain-the actual Seller is in California.

This is definitely a scam...no doubt about it.

The members name is "Osak"..........steer clear.

I was just contacted by OSAK for my WTB Sweet 16 case. delete. Too bad this little corner of the internet has been found.

I just exchanged emails with the actual seller of the H575 (he has several Heritages for sale on eBay). He asked that I post on here that he is not contacting HOC members directly to sell or buy anything.

He contacted me about a strap. wants me to send my address and email to him so he "can send pictures".. what a fart!

Was the wording of his response identical to that sent to others here? I am considering whether it was a piece of software that broke into the HOC. Nothing has been posted by the account.

Didn't you give him the address?

If it is a bot, it has the ability to respond using photos from eBay and answer questions. From my experience with him, I think it's a scammer using phishing software to make the initial contact.

He contacted me as well. It seems he's a Nigerian prince who needs to move a couple of million to an American bank and would like to split the dough with me. He also has a pair of HRWs for sale.

Wonder if we'll hear from him again.

Probably same Douche that keeps changing name on different forums and E bay.

I was hoping he'd have a vintage chemical light battery from an Army surplus store. Maybe some squelch grease and a ground guide? (if anyone has been in the army in the past 15 years, you'd find this absolutely hilarious!)

I posted a thread earlier today on the Family Tree forum with the email text the feller sent me.
