kbp810
I cannot wait until my KBP810 Reverb Deluxe is ready. I've been playing his 5E3 V2.0 amp for the past week. Yesterday, I was able to turn the volume up and couldn't get any breakup until the volume was near 10! By then, I aggravated my hearing problem in my left ear. Very painful... Turned it down to five, but wow is that ever a loud clean amp for only being designed to be a 5 watt amp! The 5E3 is closer to 14'ish watts The RD shouldn't be too much longer! JackBaruth
Here's the answer: http://www.tubeampfactory.com/ The guy who makes them owns a scientific instrument company and he builds them with his NOS parts from when scientific instruments used point to point wiring. I have his 15 watt amp and it is fabulous. You won't be sorry and best of all you can either have it shipped one day ground or come to Ohio to meet the owner. And the price is beyond right. Wow, that is cool stuff; and what great prices for a handwired amp!

DetroitBlues
Can't get better than this! http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/12048-d-style-ods-183-build/ or this: http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/12276-5e3-v-20/ or this: http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11159-latest-kbp810/ or this: http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11235-holy-huge-capacitors/ And any one of these can be built and documented right here on the forum. I'm betting it will be cheaper than what you're going to pay for a botique amp.

But if not, KBP will be getting a ring. I already think I am going to ring him about a reverb unit, since my new little head does not have reverb

DetroitBlues
So why don't we add a little more "rules" to this. Best 5W Tube Amp under $200 (new or used)

pegleg32
I guess I'm going against the rules a bit, but here is the best 5W bedroom amp you can buy IMHO. Suggested list was $1,500, street was around $1,100, and the best price I see now is $850-$900, and that's if you can find one. I think they stopped making them because they were just too good, and too expensive, an amp for a low power amp. http://www.laney.co.uk/show_prod.php?prod=l5t-
DetroitBlues
Just saw a Laney stand alone Reverb unit. Also a very old Ampeg head in a lunchbox style. Two channels and four imputs. Unusual control knob labeled Bass/Flat/Guitar... never saw that before! Looked like 4 preamp and two power tubes....
