Tim Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Wow...always wanted an LP florentine. That is smokin' in my eyes. I'm going to have to keep my eyes open for an SAE...
schundog Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Not me, but I'm curious what SAE stands for; Semihollow Academy..Electric?! Anybody know?

big bob Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Not me, but I'm curious what SAE stands for; Semihollow Academy..Electric?! Anybody know? The sae is not really hollow. the f-holes have about 1" hollowed out around them. really a solid body.
FredZepp Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 I was watching that one.. but no, I didn't get it. I saw one of these that sold for $1K a couple of years ago and have often remembered it as a bargain on a well crafted and likely versatile guitar.

I see that now, looking at the pics again, the back looks like a solidbody. So do the F holes just provide weight relief and asthetics? Strange.

The one I bought with the headstock repair was a nice guitar, well with a headstock repair. Another thing to note is the poplar back or as heritage says (hard wood.
tulk1 Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Not me, but I'm curious what SAE stands for; Semihollow Academy..Electric?! Anybody know? Stereo Acoustic Electric. Had a 2000 Millie SAE with that written on the inside. Plus, Marv said so.
MartyGrass Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Pete Moreno is working on one now. It's a pretty nice guitar. I also got a peek at Brent's ES-175 at Pete's shop. I'm surprised he went with a pink finish.
