That is incredible. Its amazing how down to earth and professional those guys are when it comes to repairing one of their own guitars. I didn't think the neck would make it looking at those pic's. Wasn't sure they could put a truss rod in there.

It already had a truss rod in it, thankfully.

I just realized this, did anyone else notice the neck is not seated all the way in the neck pocket? I'd think that would affect the sustain or weaken the neck joint....

Thanks for pointing that out - I did not realize it until you did, again, being the Village Idiot, I wouldn't have known the difference. I don't think it is affecting the guitar negatively in any way. Time will tell, but that body is already 25 years old.

Hmmmm, first, I'm not only jealous!! But VERY jealous. Envious comes to mind, too. And, yeah honestly, just a bit of lump in the throat looking at that guitar and thinking what a truly great thing you did rescuing that shell. And then letting the boys restore that guitar. It's a piece of their history we see very little of. Rare, I guess. And to have them restore it adds even that much more value to it. Enjoy that guitar, keep it forever. :icon_thumright: .... Wow, what a beauty.

Thanks Tulk. Your sentiments are exactly the reason why I took the gamble. To be honest, I think they got just as much a kick out of restoring it and seeing my reaction to it. It's why they do what they do, as Marv said in an interview once, "for the love of the guitar." They are truly an exceptional bunch over there.

On the one hand, wow, I'm not so much jealous as happy for you and wishing it were mine.

I also think I have the finish I want on my eventual Tele purchase. Man, I was actually thinking an OSB finish would look nice (I THINK that's what that is), and boy was I ever right. That ended up really sharp!

Totonka~ That was a great, but all too brief story and video of your personal Phoenix Rising Heritage!

They need to bring that model back.

We have petitioned for that many times. Even tried to get them to do a Forum Edition. But, they won't. Not that they can't, but they won't out of respect for the original body design(ers). Which is too bad. I think it'd be a big seller for them.

Fantastic video and a great story... and more important...you have a beautiful guitar that is a very different Heritage...I agree with you tulk..that would be a big seller for them...I know I would get in line for 1 :icon_thumleft:

Is there a still shot photo of the completed guitar you can post?

I haven't gotten around to taking pics of it yet, but there is the one on the first page of the thread, and one with Marv, me & the guitar that I haven't posted - just 'cause I don't want anyone to vomit on their monitors when they see me.

I guess I don't get their reasoning on this; Other than the general shape of a T-Style guitar from Fender, this guitar has virtually NOTHING in common with a Tele. Too bad, I agree.

I would be interesting if they did have a design of their own for a solid body guitar. Something that breaks away from Gibson's early days. Perhaps we could ask them to promote a contest and the winner will be presented at PSPIV?

Sweet Axe Dude!! They did a great job..But what did i expect? LOL..Ren is funny as a crutch..Thanks for sharing..

Ren has a strobe tuner in his head! He's hilarious. Big Tone in that tapped p'up!

I love the vid with Bill Paige and Ren Walls. I wish that there were more of it.

And yes, Ren certainly has a tuned ear. Cool to see.

That's a great resurrection of a unique Heritage. Gotta dig the tonal possibilities with those switches.

I sent photos of the finished product to Danny Click, the guitarist that I bought the body from, and he was very impressed with the work that the fellas over on Parsons Street did with it. He also sent me a link on iTunes to his new album that, in his words, he "recorded using a slew of Heritages."

Check it out here Danny Click
