Dick Seacup Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Must be a great guitar, because it sure has been played! I'm not a "strat player" but I sure do dig my 162. Love the pics!

People often refer to these as "Strat" but aren't they more Ibanez than Strat? Not that I've ever owned one... Thanks for the pics and see if you can add a little more "Mojo" on us...

jacques Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 People often refer to these as "Strat" but aren't they more Ibanez than Strat? Well, they're not stRats, but STATs and a big difference with most Ibanez guitars (don't know all of 'em) is the sandwich body of mahogany and maple top. My old 162 has the same (Schaller) pickups and is both warm with all the stratocaster bells and hot as hell with a screaming Kahler tremolo. I've been hunting for a STAT, but they're not that much around in Europe, I guess.
