Kuz Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 AWESOME!!!!! I LOVE the Trans-black!!!! And while I agree, you can get an excellent Gibby (if you look hard enough), I think in a couple months you will be preaching what I do.... Heritage guitars just sound UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dasherdave Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 Hi from Perth. Welcome to the HOC. You got those from Jacksons right? You got them for a great price. Ive been watching his site and wondering how low he was going to go on prices of Heritage. I was over Sydney last week and almost called into Jacksons to try the 170. Just a ridiculously good price. But my daughter banned me from any guitar stores during our short visit. The Duotone is an awesome amp! Between that and your new Heritages you gotta be in some kind of tone heaven. Well done on two great looking Heritages. AFL or NRL? Hi tully, yes you are correct, I just got really lucky with the purchases. As they had been discounted, I saved $3K between the two if them, just ridiculous. I definitely would not have been able to do anything like that otherwise! Yeah, the Duotone is really a great, great amp...not so many people use them (that I have seen locally) so it also gets a bit of a 'what is that??' kind of reaction as well, which isn't bad at all. The combination of Heritage and Duotone is sublime. Thanks again tully, oh, and its NRL if I had to pick...but I have to say I'm a basketball nut really... Cheers.
Dasherdave Posted March 27, 2011 Author Posted March 27, 2011 HOLY CRAP DAVE...you've got it bad!!!! Hahaha that's funny....and also true! But that's a good thing right??

You are absolutely right Kuz, my Goldtop LP is just brilliant I think, but I could tell in the relatively limited time that I have played/owned it that it is as good as my custom shop Gibby! And ofr that reason alone, I am a true Heritage convert...I'd get another H-150 in a heartbeat if the opportunity presented itself. What I'm looking forward to most is letting a couple of friends of mine, one in particular who owns Gibson stuff, play my H-150 and see what reaction it gets, even if they can't get past the different headstock design, which I think is ridiculous by the way, anyhow. I would very, very happily go into battle against any other Gibson with the H-150.
Dasherdave Posted March 31, 2011 Author Posted March 31, 2011 UPDATED PICS BELOW... Hi Guys, Alright, I finally got some time to take some more shots of my Heritages, and specifically, pics of my new H-170CM that is just stellar! Please check out the new pics and let me know what you think. Cheers All.
H Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Very nice, Dave. I'm sure mars_hall will be asking you to drop those into the gallery very soon (if he hasn't already).

yoslate Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 UPDATED PICS BELOW... Hi Guys, Alright, I finally got some time to take some more shots of my Heritages, and specifically, pics of my new H-170CM that is just stellar! Please check out the new pics and let me know what you think. Cheers All. Stunning pair, 'dave! Just gorgeous, both of them! You must be over the moon. The color on the 170 is hard to believe! And the black "worming" in the wood is mineral stains, indigenous to maple. I love mineral stains in a top. I think they imbue a guitar with a lot of character; they're unique, like a finger print. Congrats on a fine, fine pair! Welcome to the fold!

Congrats on a fine, fine pair! Welcome to the fold! Thanks so much yoslate, yeah the colour and top on the 170 is quite unreal, I have to say. It is listed believe it or not as 'Trans Cherry', but I can honestly say that depending on the amount of light, the angle that you look at it, that it is any combination of the colours bright red, bright orange, burnt orange (much like in these pics), dark pink/fuchsia, vintage watermelon red (like on some old ES335's from the 60's etc), cherry red or bright burgundy......its really astounding how much it changes Thanks for informing me about the black "worming" in the wood...that is such a wild contrast against the top colour and makes it just really stand out...I have never owned or seen a maple cap with this effect before...it was something that really made me take notice of the guitar on the wall in the shop... Thanks for the welcome in yoslate, I'm a very happy Heritage owner thank you very much!! They do look cool together if I say so myself! Hahaha
H Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Thanks H, there is a dedicated gallery?? Yes Dave, look in your profile and you'll see an option to create a gallery. Size your pics to 1024x768 max and keep them under a megabyte and you should have no issues getting them uploaded. Remember to add details like guitar model, year, finish, pickups and anything unusual in each photo's comments section and you'll earn the love and respect of our fantastic and knowledgeable gallery moderator, mars_hall. Did I earn myself some brownie points there, Mark?

NoNameBand Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Wow, a twofer. That is a good day. No wonder you're excited. I am too and I didn't even get a new guitar today. Happiness is contagious I guess. Congratulations, they're both beautiful. Good job
bnmartin54 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Grand job! And indeed, this is a great group of folks with a common interest in guitars - even to one who only has a 'probationary membership' (for as yet I haven't purchased my first Heritage; but I'm in the market). Be well. // Bob
