Jazzpunk Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I've seen some really cool thinline Heritage archtops but have yet to hear any recordings. If any of the thinline archtop owners here have demos online (or have time to make one), I'd love to hear them!
Kuz Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Do you consider a 525 a "thinline archtop"? If so, here is a recording of Equinox (525 through Axe-Fx). http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=933379&content=songinfo&songID=9720495

If any of the thinline archtop owners here have demos online (or have time to make one), I'd love to hear them! i emailed them a few weeks ago and mentioned that I was an endorser but never got a guitar through them and sent them a link to my demos but did not get a reply. I'd like to see them do something more with the millennium. Like make a 25.5" version with the eagle neck and thicker body. I have the feeling that they are struggling.

If you call in the morning between 7-9:30AM, you can always catch Ren, Bill, Marv. I talked to them twice last week. They are not the best at returning e-mails, too busy building guitars. Also, don't call on Fridays.
Gitfiddler Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Interesting thread...one that I wish I could provide a demo, but do not currently have the equipment (or time) to do so. It is always great to hear Kuz and the others that play so well. Heritage's thinline archtops are my favorite body style. However, I also include all of their semi-hollows and custom one off thin bodied archtops in that broad category.
koula901 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Kuz, Awesome clip - both playing and tone. Lollar P90s?
Jazzpunk Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Do you consider a 575 a thin body? Sorry I should have been more specific. I've already owned a 575, 535 and a Groove master. I currently own a 525. I'm specifically intrigued by the idea of a thinline Eagle and would love to hear some clips. I know there are a few out there but my youtube search came up empty.

Jazzpunk Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Looks like this has turned into a thread about Kuz's 525 lol. The 525 is my favorite Heritage of the four I've owned so far so guess I can't blame him for wanting to show it off!

The 525 can cover more ground and more musical styles and as much as I love my 525, I can't state how much I love my 575 for more of that Pat Metheny tone (not that I am in anyone stating I can play anything like him, just comparing hist Es175 tone).
skydog52 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I think Brent found out what a tone monster these 530s are. I love mine.
Kuz Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Brent & SDog, I'd say both of those beauties would definitely count!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My playing is less than par, but the gear is where the tone is...listen with an open mind http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_8029681 http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_8035156
Jazzpunk Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 I already own an ES-330 and agree that they are great guitars!
