Jazzpunk Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 My other thread got hijacked so thought I'd start a new one. Hopefully an owner of one of these rare birds will come along and post a demo someday! If you guys spot any demos on youtube or elsewhere, do let me know. Thanks!
Kuz Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Sorry, Aaron, I now see you were a little more specific to ThinLine "Eagles" not just archtops. I wasn't trying to hijack your last thread, sorry.
Jazzpunk Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 No worries, just wanted to make a more specific thread for posterity in case some demos surface down the road. I enjoyed the enthusiasm and contributions on the last thread.
Kuz Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Alright JP, click here if you dare!!!! http://guitarsnjazz.com/products/inventory/index.php?make=Heritage (Second page, Guitar #6) It has been there a while and the description says a pro repaired a small crack, still I was eyeing this one before I got my Blond Eagle back.....
Jazzpunk Posted April 7, 2011 Author Posted April 7, 2011 i have some clips of mine somewhere Please post them if you find them!

Hmmm... not sure about the scale length on that one. I think you made the right choice!
MartyGrass Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 I never tire of posting these pics. I had an Eagle Classic with a 3" body with similar electronics. It sounded fairly close to this guitar. The thinline is easier to play and is a joy. http://s796.photobucket.com/albums/yy249/mgoetting/Golden%20Eagle/
Jazzpunk Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 Beautiful guitar! Same scale length as the Eagle?
MartyGrass Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Beautiful guitar! Same scale length as the Eagle? The label says it's a Golden Eagle. It's a long scale. There was a similar GE on eBay a few months ago. It had a Venetian cutaway and some honest wear on it. I don't know why more of the thinlines don't sell. The spruce top really changes the sound and a 2 1/4" thickness is comfortable.

Keep me in mind if you ever decide to part with it.
sheetsofsound Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 i might (big might) be talked into parting with mine.
Jazzpunk Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 i might (big might) be talked into parting with mine. Any family discount?
Jazzpunk Posted April 8, 2011 Author Posted April 8, 2011 I don't know why more of the thinlines don't sell. The spruce top really changes the sound and a 2 1/4" thickness is comfortable. How do you feel the tone compares to your previous archtops?
MartyGrass Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 How do you feel the tone compares to your previous archtops? To be fair, it's hard to be accurate. Different strings and different pups make comparisons inexact. I can be confident that the thinlines are more fun to play informally. I can slouch in a chair and play it comfortably. In general, my 3 1/2" guitar is more bassy. My 3" is brighter. The thinline is brighter still.
