zeittgeist Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 So, the salesman who helped me, sent these photos this evening. I can't take delivery till the end of the month because of a California pawn law requiring a 30 day waiting period on used guitars. I am sharing these photos of the guitar not only because it is beautiful and I really connected with it, playing in the store, but because I have never seen any pictures of any model quite like it. Wondered if anyone knew whether it was a custom order or if Heritage produced a run of these. Label inside says Roy Clark ALB.
kidsmoke Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 wow. the bridge, the fretboard, the maple neck. The stinger. That is a seriously beautiful guitar. Congratulations.
TalismanRich Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 That looks like a custom order... Eagle on the headstock (normally a signature) Tailpiece is from the Eagle No fret markers Tuners are Eagle style. Do you sense a pattern? It sounds like a Roy Clark body with Eagle appointments.
tulk1 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Wowzer, Momma!! Nice score. BTW, we have that same law, or a variant thereof, in our area.
ronalr Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Congratulations...that is a beauty....it's gonna be a long wait!!!!
jazzrat Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Wow,. that is one spectacular collection of cool features and gorgeous wood. Terrific score! Congrats
111518 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 That is a really pretty guitar --and I agree it looks like a slightly smaller version of an Eagle Classic. Man, I love the fact that there are so many variations of Heritage guitars out there.
NoNameBand Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 What a great catch. Beautiful guitar. Congratulations.

Hah, I think I'll call it my Eagle RC.
zeittgeist Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Wow, is that a short scale too? Good question. Since just about everything else has been customized, I guess I'll have to measure the scale length to find out.
SouthpawGuy Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Good question. Since just about everything else has been customized, I guess I'll have to measure the scale length to find out. Isn't the Roy Clarke model basically an H-535 with a single cutaway ? Stands to reason that it would have the same scale length.
NoNameBand Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Here are the specs from Heritage. It is different than a 535 although it looks close. H 535 Specifications : Roy Clark Specifications : 24 3/4” scale ** 24- 3/4” scale 22 fret bound rosewood fingerboard ** 22 fret ebony block inlaid board dot inlays on one piece mahogony neck ** one piece mahogany neck 18" long semi-hollowbody ** 20” long semi hollow body 16" body with 1-5/8" rim ** 16” width with 1- 5/8” rim laminated cream bound curly maple top ** "Center block is not attached to back" and back withsolid curly maple rim. ** laminated white bound curly maple top & back "solid maple rim" gold hardware
Spectrum13 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Check out how the bridge lines up above the center of the fholes and the distance between the pickups. Looks like a byrdland scale which would make it super easy to play.
Guest HRB853370 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Very, very nice and clearly out of my league!
Gitfiddler Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hah, I think I'll call it my Eagle RC. ...Or you could call it your REagle...because that is one regal gitfiddle you scored!! Play it in good health.
