Anothersixstringer Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Ok, so it's a disease; but this thing sounds so great that I feel that I need to share it. (Even though playing still needs lots of improvement) So, I got this krivo djangobucker pickup ( designed for "Django" style) and took out the stock one on the guitar. Results (through a ZT Lunchbox) here. Forgive the raw quality, just hints at what the sound is. btw, I had another of the same song, but I like this one better ( will erase the other) credits : backing track courtesy of the iRealB iphone app / white socks courtesy of my wife
Kuz Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Nice job, I really enjoyed that!!! Keep the clips coming!!!
tulk1 Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Did you have to modify the Eagle to get that pickup slanted like that?
Anothersixstringer Posted April 18, 2011 Author Posted April 18, 2011 Thanks Kuz! Much appreciated Regarding tulk1's question, the Eagle had a floating pickguard, so i just took it out: unscrew it and unplugged the rca connector inside the guitar. Btw, whoever designed that electric to acoustic system at Heritage deserves a national day and corresponding monument! The guitar was therefore converted to an acoustic archtop in two minutes. The pickup is composed of a wooden base (holding adjustable poles) plus a cable with a female plug. It is called the "Djangobucker", and it gets attached to the guitar by this blue sticky putty. So, there is no extra mods to the guitar. It is slanted as the setup instructions call for alignment of the poles to the strings. It is not a traditional straight row of six poles, but two angled sets of three poles each. Some demos exist on youtub. Thanks for taking a time to comment
