JackBaruth Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 It's basically a 535 without a centerblock, not even a partial one. Another way to look at it is that it is a Kalamazoo-built Epiphone Casino. I happen to be staying near the Dakota Apartments this week for the auto show so that's on my mind.
Doug Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Very sweet. I really love that look. Great color/finish and really cool pick guard and truss rod cover.
JeffB Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Nice . Another stunning guitar from Heritage. Congrats.
Kuz Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I REALLY like it, I like everything about the guitar (including the different appointments).
brentrocks Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Nice Mark...i saw that one too...when i saw it was in China, my first thought was Chinese copy? but im sure you did your research. looks nice!
DetroitBlues Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I think this is the long awaited Heritage Justin Bieber model that will turn 225 Parsons into the next Trump palace. Oh, is that who you're listening to nowadays?
MartyGrass Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Nice Mark...i saw that one too...when i saw it was in China, my first thought was Chinese copy? but im sure you did your research. looks nice! I got shots of the labels, SN, etc. The seller knows I'm taking it to Heritage. I had enough discussion with him to roll the dice. Crossing my fingers. I have a tracking number.
MartyGrass Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Here's what the seller told me about the origin of the guitar. Not much of a story, really. I saw that Heritage as making an ES-330 copy (with the same neck joint as an ES-335), so I ordered one through Jeff Hale (great guy). I asked for Golden Amber, but it came out a little darker than that. I also asked for the Duncans and the cream pickup mounting rings. Giving it the fancier headstock was Heritage's idea. I ordered the pickguard material separately and had someone in Hong Kong make the pickguard and truss rod cover. I also found those knobs to be a good match, so I used those. End of story. Was there something more specific you wanted to know? Best, Ken
jrfreed Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 It's basically a 535 without a centerblock, not even a partial one. So its a 530 with HB's then I REALLY hope you're going to play jazz with that beast!!
MartyGrass Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 So its a 530 with HB's then I REALLY hope you're going to play jazz with that beast!! Yep. I'm going to continue to give jazz a bad name!
jrfreed Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Niiice! You will love that guitar for jazz! I've had my custom 530 for about a year and love it...very versatile sound with some 1/2 round stings.
Assumer Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Great looking guitar. Love the headstock with the binding.

heritagefan7 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Took your advice and ordered a few sets from www.juststrings.com. GHS Flat Brites. That's a great guitar and a unique look that's really eye catching. I'm sure it will sound as good or better than it looks!
NoNameBand Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 Sweet guitar. I love the tailpiece, trussrod cover/pickguard, wood and the humbuckers on a 530. Mostly, I like the color, It's beautiful MG. Congrats
MartyGrass Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 It arrived in one piece and is gorgeous. It has a beefy neck. Yay! I'll adjust the neck and plug it in later tonight. It's jet lagged, coming from Hong Kong. It needs some rest now. Actually I have to wait until I get home to power it up.
MartyGrass Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 The guitar is remarkably nice sounding with nickel 11's. It sounds, well, hollow. I have often wondered what a 330/530 would sound like with decent HBs. I like it.
