tbone Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I was eyeing a 150 gold top, but after my buddy said he needed to part with his 137, I told him to let me borrow it for a week. Combination of the tobacco sunburst and the growl this thing can produce force me not to let him sell it to anybody but me. golferwave Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Wow! An early edition H-137. Nice score and welcome!
Hfan Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Welcome to the club / cult. Nice group of folks here. Tbone, are you a fan of T Bone Walker? One of my favs, also my favorite steak. Like that 137, didn't know they even made them at that time, pretty rare I believe. Cool finish.
brentrocks Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Very nice...there are not a lot of those floating around!!! Welcome to the HOC!
chico Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 nice axe, great pickup! and welcome to the cult. as g'wave pointed out, an early H137 with Schallere hdware and humbuckers? First one I've seen like that.
FredZepp Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 That has a classic look to it. And there's no doubt that it has the Kalamazoo mojo built in. Very nice first Heritage that you grabbed. ( and nice pics/slideshow to show it )
schundog Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Welcome to the HOC, and to the "137 Club," tbone! Thanks for the education; I never knew that they ever came in anything but solid colors (I've only ever seen yellow like mine and red) or with humbuckers instead of the now standard P90s. I'll bet you can't stop at buying just one, though!
Kmenne Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Welcome! Very cool guitar. I know you will enjoy it.
golferwave Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I think Dixie has one of these early ones with humbucks also. This is just the second one I've seen so they are rare.
