JeffB Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Well.....thats pretty much how I would custom order it. Nice.
blueox Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 That's a great example of what could be considered the ultimate guitar.
GASguy Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Wow! Just one look at that beautiful instrument and it is very easy to understand why you couldn't resist buying it!
Gitfiddler Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Amazing! I always liked the look of those pre-2007 H555 three piece maple necks. You mentioned in the original 'for sale' thread that this one had one of the most incredible necks. What makes it so from your perspective?

You mentioned in the original 'for sale' thread that this one had one of the most incredible necks. What makes it so from your perspective? I haven't seen it in person. The description I put in the For Sale section was from the seller. You know how necks go- a lot of opinion. Personally I adapt pretty well to almost anything. There probably is an advantage to thin necks when it comes to long fretboard stretches.
FredZepp Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Very nice... certainly a top shelf instrument. 555 w/ HRW's , tonepros, and the finish is ...ALSB? It has a very appealing look.

schundog Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Enjoy that one, Mark; no WONDER you wanted to save that one for yourself! haha
MartyGrass Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Enjoy that one, Mark; no WONDER you wanted to save that one for yourself! haha I had to sell one of my kids to get it!
Kuz Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I had to sell one of my kids to get it! Yea, a kid or kidney (remember you do NEED the Liver, trust me I thought about selling, LOL).... small price to play for a Kalamazoo classic!!!!
duaneallen Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Wow, I love it without the gold hardware. Did you order it like that?
TalismanRich Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Love the look of that one. Nice score. Looking forward to the tone report.
bolero Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 WOOT!! congrats, that's a sexy beast....I dig the stripe on the neck too! I'm surprised the new 555's have mahag necks, I thought that was a great difference between the 535 & 555
High Flying Bird Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 No gold but good enough to set the gold standard. Nice!
mark555 Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I also prefer the 555 without gold, much classier in my personal opinion - there are differing schools of thought of course! Your guitar is stunning, here's a picture of my 555 with Nickel. It was originally gold but I had my local tech replace it all.
MartyGrass Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Wow, I love it without the gold hardware. Did you order it like that? The original owner did.
