Jazzpunk Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Never seen a Heritage like this before! http://cgi.ebay.com/1991-Heritage-Golden-Eagle-Custom-Florentine-Peghead-/160579754325?pt=Guitar&hash=item25634c9955
Jazzpunk Posted April 29, 2011 Author Posted April 29, 2011 Did Heritage do custom headstocks at one point or was this a VIP order? Love to get the inside story on this one!
kbp810 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Wow,that is quite unique Is it just me, or does the cutaway looks different too?
H Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I think Fredzepp's Centurion has a pretty special headstock on it too. I'm sure he'll oblige us with a pic
barrymclark Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I think Fredzepp's Centurion has a pretty special headstock on it too. I'm sure he'll oblige us with a pic No he won't. He never takes an opportunity to show that guitar off.
FredZepp Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Ha... you guys know me too well... The guitar in the OP has some paperwork with it that seems to indicate that Heritage did the work..original receipts and all. It looks like in 1991 ( 20 years ago ), the original buyer paid about $3,800 for this one with some customizing. But it is hard to make out what the receipt says in the pic. It's certainly a very cool Golden Eagle. Oh yeah, and heres another unique headstock they made ..
DetroitBlues Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Very cool guitar, hopefully once Brentrocks buys it, he'll keep it long enough to show it to us at PSP. If I was to custom order a H-157, I'd use the same inlays!
smurph1 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 No he won't. He never takes an opportunity to show that guitar off. LOL

Kuz Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 That is some serious string angle across the nut. Could lead to major tuning issues by getting hung up in the nut???!!!!
barrymclark Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 That is some serious string angle across the nut. You ain't lyin! That is some WAY dramatic angling.
Jazzpunk Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 You ain't lyin! That is some WAY dramatic angling. I really dig the original sketch they had for it. Looks like they decided to go for some extra flair though! Sure would be cool to get the back story on this one.
tulk1 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I like that headstock in the original order. Wonder why they flared it so much on the production model? Wouldn't have near the string pull if they'd kept it that way. Still, very interesting and unique guitar. Agreed that the Florentine cut looks ... different. Less re-curve, maybe?
