heritagefan7 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 OK, I'm usually a lot more tech savvy and should be able to post the pics here--but the best I could do was get them to photobucket. The address below should hopefully work. It's pics of the 574 I found in a little NC store a few years ago. Some folks have asked to see it--It looks a lot like one of the models on the discontinued models list on the Heritage website--but it's a larger guitar. It's a really neat guitar. I hope the address works & would love an education on how to get them from photobucket to here. I tried the directions on the EBAY listing section but apparently I'm goofing that up somehow. Let me know if the add doesn't work. http://s1089.photobucket.com/albums/i351/heritagefan7/
Kuz Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Just click on IMG CODE and it will say COPIED, then paste into your reply.

heritagefan7 Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 You got it now.... and I LOVE YOUR GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THX--Kalamazoo did the hard work--I was just blessed enough to be able to find & pay for it!--I LOVE YOUR WHOLE STABLE! Maybe 1 day! Thanks again for all the help.
MartyGrass Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 I only saw one other 574. It looked a little Gretsch-like, which is good. Very nice.
heritagefan7 Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 Dimensions are really close to a 575...except this guitar has a wood block--semi hollow so feedback is "more" manageable. Finish is near perfect (except for 1 small worming spot in the finish & a little fade on top rim edge--ends up looking almost like a reverse burst. Have a friend that's been dropping hints abt buying it. That bug bit me a little b/c just got a 555 & love the thinline--so now thinking abt a p90 530. May keep the 574 though--Parsons Street says it's 1 of 20 made, so there's that cool tidbit....Mostly, we've bonded & It's just a great guitar...Sorry abt the sales pitch description---Not intended, I just like bragging on her!--If it does go up for sale--It will go in the HOC sale trade area b4 anywhere else.

My hope is to one day walk into a pawn shop, used music store, and find a discontinued Heritage guitar. Where again in NC did you acquire this?

I found it on Gbase at a little store called Brookstown music in Winston Salem NC. They were really great to work w/. Story tht came w/ it was tht some local music legend bought it orig in '91 and Brookstown got it when he passed away. Color on tag is Vintage Orange. http://www.brookstownmusic.com/
Hfan Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Cool guitar, never seen one perfect finish for it. Kind of says rockabilly to me, sure it does more than that well. It also reminded me of a Gretsch which is another brand I have never owned but have been curious about, or compared with a new Gretsch a better idea might be a Heritage with TV Jones pick ups and a Bigsby. Regarding the photobucket deal, I never posted pics much and every time I did I never quite recalled how I did it last time and it always took me some time to re figure inserting a full size pic. Any way, last time I wrote down step by step..there may be easier ways but it works each time for me..., here it is: 1.Select your photo on photo bucket 2.On the right near the face booketc logos select "see more" 3.On the next page select "get link code" 4 Select and copy the link listed for "Direct link for layout pages" 5. On the HOC message tool bar paste that link into the green square photo looking icon two over from the smiley face. Just click the green square, paste the link and then hit "insert Image"

I've played Gretsch & the Heritage leans so much more toward jazz & blues than rocakabilly. It's a very warm & smooth guitar--not nearly as twangy as a Gretsch. It has a very acoustic feel when being played clean and has a great range due to the woodblock. BUT---you can actaully death metal this thing if you don't get too close to the amp...or don't mind feedback. My Jazz instructor was a first call guy in LA in the 80's & he thought it worked great for jazz/blues/rock. His quote "Man, this feels just like a 175." He's a g****n guy.

I now realize what the 530 is, very cool. BTY, it is ok to say the G word.
heritagefan7 Posted April 30, 2011 Author Posted April 30, 2011 I now realize what the 530 is, very cool. BTY, it is ok to say the G word. Thx...it's easier to type it out! I also play a '91 LP that's been a good friend for a long time. It's awesome that LOVE can be a many splendored thing.
GASguy Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Very cool guitar and beautiful! The rounded cutaway emphasizes the luscious curves on that vintage orange lady. That 574 guitar is really a keeper, but it genuinely aggravates my problem, ya know, GAS.
FredZepp Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Very , very cool guitar. The orange gives it a great look. That one is a honey of a Heritage.
tulk1 Posted April 30, 2011 Posted April 30, 2011 Looks like an Academy, to me. Maybe thicker - that might be the 575 link. Very rare on the HoC. Nice pics, nice score!!
Dick Seacup Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 That is one beautiful "rare bird." Very Gretsch-like vibe kicking there. Love it!

No idea abt similarity w/ Academy. The rim is 2 3/4...20 frets...neck joins at 15th fret...16 inch body width...& looks to be abt as long as my 555. That's the basics. Again, partial wood block. Weird animal--cool sound.
heritagefan7 Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 That does look good. Congrats! How are thngs in your neck of the woods?...I think that I caught from other posts that you live in the area that the storms hit. Terrible stuff. I'm from the east coast and have gone through lots of hurricanes--Hugo being the worst. Sure hope that you all are ok and that things are starting to settle out a little.
