zdzislaw Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Hello All Finally received my new Heritage, the H140 Anniversary. Am pleased, terrific paint job on this - subtle change feom the silver to the black. Sounds terrific - but on problem. The pick-up selector switch doesn't engage the bridge pick-up in the middle poswition. Wiring looks fine at the switch end and the pot end. Same wiring pretty much as in the Guild. I think it is the switch - down it engages the bridge, up it engages the bridge, middle just the bridge. Has anyone rewired the volume pots for separate pick-up volume rather than just having a master - if so, how do you like it. Also, anyone know of a good guitar repair shop in New Hampshire? Cheers
pegleg32 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 gratz on the new guitar!!!! WE NEED PICTURES!!! I don't know the answer to your questions but I sure someone here will.

Same wiring pretty much as in the Guild. I think it is the switch - down it engages the bridge, up it engages the neck, middle just the neck. Also, anyone know of a good guitar repair shop in New Hampshire? Cheers Those 140 anniversary editions are special guitars , very sweet. I corrected your post to what I think that you meant to say. Have you talked with the dealer that you bought it from? I assume that this is a new guitar. They should help you resolve this issue. Maybe they can recommend a place. .. and we do like photos, if you have a chance to take some.

Cheers Congratulations on a fine looking guitar.Sorry to hear about the switch problem.Shouldn't be too difficult to solve the problem.I don't (obviously) know any guitar repairers in New Hampshire, but you're only a couple of small states away ( Ha ! ) from Doug Proper at www.guitarspecialist.com. He's based at 307 Route 22 Goldens Bridge,New York 10526.(914)4019052.A great guy,and an expert on all things guitar.Good Luck. Peter Alton Green ( U.K.)
brentrocks Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Congrats on the new Heritage....you should take it to the dealer for the repair, that is a warantee issue, unless you bought it used.
blueox Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 "Finally received my new Heritage, the H140 Anniversary . . . . . . Has anyone rewired the volume pots for separate pick-up volume rather than just having a master - if so, how do you like it. As mentioned, your new guitar is under warranty for any pickup selector switch issues. Your H140's pickups should have two individual volume controls from the factory (along with two tone controls), unless yours is a custom order with one master volume control. Post a photo when you can.
zdzislaw Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 I am going to give the dealer a call - but more than several states away. And, a picture will get posted once my wife returns with the camera, it was a b'day present from her.

peteraltongreen Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Nice to see tha Bluesbird on the list. Hi zdzislaw, The Bluesbird is a great guitar.I don't use it at the moment,so it's stored.I do check all my guitars on a regular basis, adjusting & stringing as necessary.I never know when I might need them.I have to say,as I've said before,my Heritage H140CM has the best natural sustain of any of my guitars, plus killer looks. With the upgrades I've done,Seymour '59's,stop bar tail & tone, vol.controls, this guitar will beat anything else that's similar.Enjoy your great new guitar. Peter Alton Green
DetroitBlues Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 I actually have the same problem on my H-140. The middle position only effects one pickup, not both. Everything appears to be wired up right. I'm almost assuming its the switch that is bad....
NoNameBand Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 You've come to the right place. Congratulations on your new guitar. The switch is no big deal.
zdzislaw Posted May 2, 2011 Author Posted May 2, 2011 After a couple of days of noodling, that the H140/25th sounds articulate almost at any volume and even if the DRRI is driven. Lowered the action a bit, adjusted the intonation a little. Jazz is very fine, blues is excellent, Hendrix is excellent - Buddy Holly, not so good, but that is what a Gretsch is for. Very pleased - damn switch problem.

Peter Alton Green Pete, I do keep telling you to take the Bluesbird out and play it more often, it is a beautiful guitar, both to look at and play - well I enjoy playing it!
