Steiner Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Your absence on this thread was testimony to the guitar's arrival. If ever in the Bay area, I'll pay to see the Gitfiddler's museum of beautiful guitars,
GASguy Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 This is my favorite shot so far... What a beauty, a jaw dropping stunner! Congrats, I know you will enjoy that, I'm enjoying it just looking!
FredZepp Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I have a special love for Natural 157 models due to using a Natural LP Custom for many years. But, of course, mine never had a top like that. A Kalamazoo treasure indeed...
heritagefan7 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I concur---Beautiful! Congratulations, congratulations!
Gitfiddler Posted May 7, 2011 Author Posted May 7, 2011 One more comment about the seller, Marty (Mark Goetting) Grass~ He is one great guy to deal with, on every level! If you ever have an opportunity to buy, sell or trade gear with him, you will be as impressed as I have been. It is sellers like him and several others on the HOC that make this a very special place to hang out. Now if you will excuse me, I have a rehersal today with this blonde beauty. Tim

Kuz Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Wow, well that certainly doesn't suck!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
High Flying Bird Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Now if you will excuse me, I have a rehersal today with this blonde beauty. I like the sides on that one. It looks like the wood is glowing. Good luck with the practice!
111518 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Nice. There's something I've always found cool about the combination of tones (colors) in a natural top custom --the black of the ebony, the rich red/brown of the mahog., the life of figured maple, and then the block enlays and binding. Just has always worked for me. Sure works on this one. Beautiful guitar.

Tim Sounds like he gave you first dibbs on that beauty. I never saw it posted here for sale, or maybe I missed it!!
pegleg32 Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 That is a most beautiful guitar Tim. I don't think they get much nicer than that.
Gitfiddler Posted May 8, 2011 Author Posted May 8, 2011 Sounds like he gave you first dibbs on that beauty. I never saw it posted here for sale, or maybe I missed it!! When Mark posted a photo of the 157 after he bought it, I immediately PM'd him begging him to notify me if he ever decided to sell it. So, yes, I called dibbs on it some time ago...and am glad Mark remembered.
brentrocks Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Tim i must say you have a very sweet collection of heritage guitars. Every one it so beautiful
Hfan Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 She landed at about 7pm after travelling from MartyGrass' Guitar Emporium. That is a stunner... wow. Congrats.
