MartyGrass Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Thanks, BMG, for a perfect transaction. 25th Anniversary with Seths, which is what I thought I bought last time. Normally I'm clownaphobic. This guitar has an amber center, so no Bozo face here. The neck is thinner than I've noted lately, but not thin. Just not fat. It looks even better in person. Here are some cell phone pics. Better ones are in the link. http://s796.photobucket.com/albums/yy249/mgoetting/H535%2025th%20Anniversary/
donnie Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Marty, let me be among the first to say WOW! Of course the fact that I have a similar one has no effect on my opinion! Looking at that pickguard, would I properly surmise it originally came through Wolfe?
NoNameBand Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 MG, great find there. Beautiful guitar, love the color and I'm sure it sounds great. Congratulations on getting the one you want.
MartyGrass Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Looking at that pickguard, would I properly surmise it originally came through Wolfe? I don't know where it was retailed from. What's the story with the Wolfe PGs?
BMG Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hi, just wanted to publicly congratulate MG on this guitar! I was the original owner and doing business with MG was a first class and flawless experience. I hope you enjoy! Thanks again, BMG
BMG Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Just a quick addition, the guitar was purchased new from Joe's music in the Detroit area. Joe is one of the original Heritage dealers from the 80's and a great guy too. (good drummer also) I hope that helps. I too am interested about wolfe's PG BMG
Gitfiddler Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 MG~ Another great find for your emporium. Play it in good health.
donnie Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Re: the Wolfe pickguard. First off, my bad here. Graham told me they had Heritage make their's a different shape from the standard ones, and my mind erroneously defaulted to the black wood as being the special part instead of the shape. I'm of course not sure if the shape is in fact something special or rather just enthusiastic selling, but in any event here's mine below: It's nevertheless a beautiful guitar, Marty!
MartyGrass Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Here's another 25th Ann. It also has a shape like yours. Mine's more SG shaped. It's pointed and ready for warfare.
bebove64 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 MG....It's a beauuuuty! I love the color, Seths are amazing. Be proud of it! congrats

MartyGrass Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Here is a 23rd Anniversary, also a great pickguard, along with the rest of the guitar. Note the Block in-lays. Mark, how did you get your age put into the fretboard?
NoNameBand Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Mark, how did you get your age put into the fretboard? They read it from the tattoo on my forehead. Do you know the story and/or the significance of 23? It's a great story, of which I am proud to be a part of.

NoNameBand Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 You're not going to tell me you put out the fire, are you? And somehow Lance saved the dog, too. I get so confused. The significance of the 23 is Heritage almost went out of business as they had suffered a fire in 2007. The 23rd Anniversary (limited to 25 guitars, 3 of which are lefty) marked a special year as a Phoenix year for them in literal terms. They lost most of their wood in the fire. When they received their new money to continue and new supply of wood, they built 25 "23rd Anniversary guitars" signed & numbered out of the choicest wood. They are very special guitars. They almost play themselves, mine has to.

He had a 23rd 535 in his shop and had no idea of its significance. Go figure! And you are correct...They are great 535's.
skydog52 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Great get Mark. That one was on my radar. Beauty. First dibs if you are ever inclined! Enjoy
blueox Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 "What's the story with the Wolfe PGs?" It seems Wolfe has Gibson-styled pickguards installed on some Heritage guitars they sell. To make them look more like Gibsons? I prefer the Heritage-styled pickguards on Heritage instruments to stand out on their own, but these are all fine looking guitars.
FredZepp Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Man, you can't go wrong with a Seth enhanced 535... That one looks great...
pegleg32 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hey Mark, that is a beautiful guitar. To my thinking, the 535's are the best model Heritage ever built and yours is even more special then the run of the mill.
schundog Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Congrats, again, Mark. I knew I should have gone to Med School.....
