Trip to Kalamazoo, part two!

Just got back from another visit to Parsons Street, took a road trip with Skydog.

Got to be there as Marv rolled my neck, so got to make sure it felt just right!

Went over specs and finishes again; I decided I am sticking with the Vintage Wine Burst on the top, but going to keep it lighter then the typical VWB to make sure all the wood shows through. At the recomendation of Marv, going with Antique Natural for the neck to help show off the curly maple and variation between the Mahogany strips.

Here are a few updated pics of the top and neck:

Oh yeah, did I mention the cupids bow before? :)

Man.. man... man.. That is freakin' awesome.

I like the idea of making the finish a bit lighter, don't hide that top.

It's coming together nicely... real nicely.

This will be great.. great job with the specs.

I can hear Mr, Lamb saying: "Once we set the neck, we'll cut it about here..."

I just have one thing to say...

HOLY SHIT!!! :drunken_smilie:

Brian, that is going to be spectacular. I love the neck detail at the foot of the neck as well as the inlays and binding. You must be very excited.

Rock on

Really special, Brian. That's gotta be a lot of fun visiing and seeing it in progress like that. Great attention to detail in your specs.

Pickups are going to be triple mini's from Tom Short - he made up a custom set for me.

They should be setting the neck and doing the pup routing soon, so hopefully not too much longer :)

Might try and sneak off for another trip when it comes time to apply the finish, if so, more pics will certainly be posted - else, pics of course will be a plenty once she's done.

Yep, those were just about his exact words!

Brian, it looks great. I like the appointments you've chosen for the neck. I think a guitar should have a little bling to it!

Should be killer when they finish it.

It's sharp!!

Why am "I" getting so excited about "your" guitar?! Oh yeah, because, as HOC bretheren, we "get" it. That's going to be one special piece, Brian. The waiting would DEFINITELY be the hardest part!

Had a good time with Brian on this trip. Always fun going to our guitar heaven.

You think that top looks good in the picture, wait until you see it in person!

That's one of the finest ones I've seen.
