GrandpaLarry Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Other than the shop of a custom luthier, is there any other instrument maker that would allow you this type of access? One that that would allow you permission to kibbitz, and the right to suggest changes while his instrument was being built? For me, that's the most eye opening part of this post.
Gitfiddler Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Question: With the addition of the Cupid's Bow at the end of the fretboard, will the neck pickup be pushed back a little, or really close to the board? Or is it a non-issue since you are installing mini-hums that have a narrower diameter than standard hums?

Or is it a non-issue since you are installing mini-hums that have a narrower diameter than standard hums? Well, it's still somewhat of a concern as there will be three mini humbuckers - the first one will be just below the cupids bow, so it will indeed be right at the end of the fretboard

I'm pretty sure that other instrument makers would have had a good laugh at my expense while I was being showed the door - that or at least my pocket books would have had to of been expotentially deeper. And that doesn't even include sitting for a cup of coffee and casual conversation with the owner/builders in the meanwhile
DetroitBlues Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I hope when the days comes that I have the freedom to purchase such a guitar, I get to experience the same treatment. Fantastic pics. Nothing like seeing it all come together....
DetroitBlues Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 A little bird told me there might be a pre-psp visit today... Wonder why?
Jimbob Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That top is fantastic! Truly beautiful! Can't wait to see pics of the final product!
FredZepp Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 A little bird told me there might be a pre-psp visit today... Wonder why? I very eagerly await the debut of this 157. It promises to be phenomenal.

big bob Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Now is the time for the 'Heritage on the grass' shot. Now! How about the Heritage on the side of the road photo
Spectrum13 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 What no seat belt? You don't deserve it if you don't protect it.
kbp810 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Oh my the natives are getting restless! Made it home a short while ago... only way I've broken myself away from playing it this long is that I finally gave Steiner a turn! More photos to come (a few from the factory didn't come out well...)
kbp810 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 Okay, just a couple more to help pass the time... almost forgot to include the photo op with Marv!
Halowords Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I really like that. I think everything about that is pretty nice. The split-block inlays, ebony fretboard, flamed maple neck, dark burst finish (DASB?), the cupid's bow, the binding, the figuring & coloration of the mahogany on the back, it all works together very nice. Congrats!
yoslate Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Priceless! Tell me Heritage isn't a custom shop! Congrats on a spectacular piece! Wow!
DetroitBlues Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Can't wait to see it in person. I must say, that's arguably the finest Heritage guitar that has ever been built.
big bob Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 That is f-ing awesome, even puts my 170 to shame.. Gongrats.. WOW.. Did I say, WOW.
