Trouble Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I finally got a pic, this is the current state and just what I use with the band. I think I will eventually replace the boss pedals with something a little better but everything else stays. Feel free to post current pics of your rigs as well! hint, hint guitar>volume(the one with the taper switch)>tuner out to tuner>wet out to compressor>ocd>blues driver>rat>micro amp>maxxon chorus> delay/echo> to amp
Trouble Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 One more pic not a board but my youngest son cole with my couch guitar (am std strat)
koula901 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Sweet baby! And you got some nice dirt on that pedalboard! It's been done before, but here it is again. My board. I say small is sweet: that Wampler is turning out to be a really cool dirt pedal.

Again nice rig. one day I am going to have clean mine up hide some of those cables...nahh prolly not!
koula901 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 I spent some time with my pedals last night, fooling with the level and drive knobs. I think you were the one that told me the Level and Drive knobs work together - and you were absolutely right!! I found unity on the SD-1 - that would be Level at 12 o'clock and drive at 6 pm (in other words, all the way off) so, then you push the drive up some, and of course it gets louder, then you gotta turn the level down to the amount of loudness you want. that was the best advice I ever got. The Wampler has different settings for unity, but my aim is to use that one for high distortion, so I"m not too concerned, about that pedal it seems a little more straight forward and wasn't giving me any trouble. When I go to the next jamm, I'll try out the SD 1 with both level and drive reduced. That first night, I think, I had drive all the way up and kept turning down level and nothing was happening. I needed to have also turned down drive, but didn't know that then. Will get to test this out Monday.
Bonefish Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 How is it coming with the boss overdrive, making any headway? Again nice rig. one day I am going to have clean mine up hide some of those cables...nahh prolly not! I love seeing the Boss Overdrive on your pedal board. I just put mine back on my pedal board a few weeks ago for kicks and grins. I was surprised to find that I love the tone I get from it. I typically have it as the first pedal in my effects loop. It thickens and cleans-up the distortion from my lead chanel, and gives a nice growl on the clean channel.

bolero Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 my stuff is pretty minimal, I just got a board to stop them from sliding around on the floor; what are you guys using for power?
koula901 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 bolero - I'm using a T-Rex Fuel Tank for power. plexi 68 and bolero - I notice that you two use a cry baby wah. How does that interact when you're playing a with a high gain pedal on? I'm not sure I'm keeping my wah.
bolero Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 ok thx, I'll look at those I don't do much high gainstuff, I'm more late '60's psychedelic...but it works good and has been reliable: I adjusted the position of the teeth inside to get a good range open-closed, plus I believe I made it true bypass at some point, and maybe upgraded the pot I found it sounded better to my ears than a budda, hendrix & vox wah...but heck, it's only a wah, not rocket science ps you should try adjusting the slider/teeth position, inside before buying another wah/tossing it...I think there's a setscrew that you can use to change the range
koula901 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 it has real good range - it's just that, when depressed to the maxiumum, I detect a funny noise when playing clean, and when used w/high gain pedal-almost a squeal. Trying to tame that thing without losing the high gain. What I like about this pedal is that it has a spring in it.
plexirocker 68 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted Today, 02:00 PM bolero - I'm using a T-Rex Fuel Tank for power. plexi 68 and bolero - I notice that you two use a cry baby wah. How does that interact when you're playing a with a high gain pedal on? I'm not sure I'm keeping my wah. The classic cry baby is a very good wah. Right at about $100 it's true bypass and the biggest thing it pretty much keeps the level the same when engaged, it doesn't drop in volume like so many wahs. Does super with gain but I don't use a heavy megazone type overdive, does classic rock and even harder rock with no problems, it's very underated. It sounds better with gain after the wah instead of overdrive before the wah plexi
Trouble Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Plexirocker and Bolero those are nice setups, my board seems to change every week. I'm really thinking of getting one a little smaller so I'll stop adding and switching stuff.(hopefully) I'll get a new pic here eventually but I've added a direct drive and phase 90 since the pic and the Blues driver is gone. I've also noticed lately I haven't been using the volume pedal much either, might put a wah their instead though in my current band it probably wouldn't see much use either.
