Jazzpunk Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Daydreaming about a custom build! Heritage 525 Body depth: 2 1/2" Neck carve: Medium/Full 'C' Single Humbucker (Lollar Imperial or Classic '57) Floating Tune-o-matic bridge Bound Headstock MOP inlay OSB finish What sayeth the HOC court?
Gitfiddler Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 JP~ Check this 575MH out. No blocks but pretty darned close to your dream gitfiddle. Mahogany back/sides + HRW's should give it a really mellow tone. (Gbase listing) H-575MH
skydog52 Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 That's a looker. Classic appointments. I wish they still used the H tailpiece.
Gitfiddler Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Very nice! Design and Mahogany both. I just noticed that it also has a Spruce top! Nice indeed!
Jazzpunk Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 That is a 575 Custom. I think it's closer to the 525 due to the laminate top. Putting a lamintae top on a 575 would probably be considered a down grade buy the guys at Heritage lol. Not quite the response I was expecting but maybe you guys weren't aware that the 525 is laminate. In any case, I've owned both a 575 and a 525 and they sound quite different. I like them both but there's just something about the 525 that does it for me!
DetroitBlues Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Oh no, not another dream guitar thread! There is so many options, can't I just have one of each?
Jazzpunk Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 Last time I started a thread here, it turned into a thread about one of Kuz's guitars. This time it's turned into a thread about a spruce top 575. I give up lol.

Jazzpunk Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 I say go for it. Those are all nice appointments for a custom build. Enabler! Thanks, I thought so too! I'm now viewing it as a custom Super Eagle with a laminate top, 16 inch body and Florentine cutaway.
Kuz Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 Last time I started a thread here, it turned into a thread about one of Kuz's guitars. This time it's turned into a thread about a spruce top 575. I give up lol. I think members were just trying to help and even give you a lead on a guitar..... I don't remember hijacking your thread last time.....
Jazzpunk Posted May 15, 2011 Author Posted May 15, 2011 I think members were just trying to help and even give you a lead on a guitar..... I don't remember hijacking your thread last time..... That spruce top 575 looks nice but it will have a very different sound than a 2.5" depth laminate top hollowbody. The guitar I outlined was not a 575 custom as mentioned but if it helps to think of it as a thinner 575 with a laminate top as opposed to a thicker 525 with a humbucker than so be it. On the bright side, maybe someone just found their dream 575 in the posts above!
Gitfiddler Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 JP~ Posting the H575MH was just my attempt to show you another custom ordered guitar with slightly out of the ordinary woods. As we all know, Heritage will pretty much build you whatever you want as long as it fits their basic designs. Sorry if the above pictured 575 took your thread away from where you intended it to go.

I'm glad you posted that pic. It's a beautiful guitar!
GRMJazz Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 JP - Sounds like a lot of the attributes of my Kenny Burrell Groove Master, with the exception of pickup (standard missionary-style schaller in mine... ;^). Certainly a nice tight guitar with its laminate top; that's why I chose it. It's still controllable with an aggresive organ trio! I know I could brighten it with round-wounds, but that's what I got my semi-hollow for!

Wish I hadn't sold it (of course I wish that about every guitar I sell lol!).
ThePushMan Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 wow look at all these beautiful instruments. I think I'm developing a bad case of G.A.S.
