Heritage H150 makeover

I recently installed a set of Duncan Alnico II Pro's in double cream (don't ask where I got em) in my H150 and I really dig the look compared to the aged nickel. And the Alnico II Pros have way more mids than the scooped sounding 59s, with a fatter/rounder response overall. I dig it!

I actually put a TonePros in and the acoustic volume of the guitar dropped noticeably, overall it sounded a lot less rich. Although I prefer it aesthetically, I can NOT screw with the tone of this guitar, it's too good.

I also have matching poker chip, and vintage switch knob, but I prefer to see as much of the maple as possible :biggrin_mini2:

I don't really have any use for a poker chip either except for that retro look. Even as a kid I thought you'd have to be pretty dense if you couldn't figure out the toggle switch.

Speaking of unnecessary labels, here's a bunch of them.

Schaller makes excellent hardware. I haven't changed out any of it personally.

I guess you're not going for that classic 50s burst look and favor function instead.

Hard to improve on the looks of that one, but you did. Turned out nice and you found the tone you want. Win Win

Great looking top. +1 on seeing as much maple as possible.

I prefer the look of "worn" covered humbuckers, even though my G-Brand LP Classic doesn't have them, but the top on your guitar is fantastic! That's what I'd like in a 150, for sure.

I prefer the look of nickle covers, polished or worn, myself - but it's hard to argue with your results, looks fantastic :icon_thumright:

I have the Alnico II's in my Gary Moore-love them. Credit goes to Brent though-he put them in before I bought it.

I like both looks. Each has it's own merit. I do agree with the no-switch "poker chip". Never heard that term before, but I get it. My 157 didn't have one. Didn't miss it. Anyway, cool looking guitar, whatever scheme it's sporting!! :icon_thumright:

That's a fantastic grain swirl in the lower bass bout! My OSB 170 has the same oval grain going on in the same spot.

Beautiful guitar :)
