What are the specs of a Blues Deluxe versus the 535? The bottom of the Blues Deluxe does not seem quite as wide.

And, were these made exclusively for Ed Roman Guitars? Seems like when they pop up, I am always told they were acquired through his dealership.

From what I have heard here, they where an Ed R creation somewhat like a Prospect but with a solid block and presumably less feedback issues. Also like the Prospect has a smaller body than the 535.

There is a nice one on e bay I was looking at yesterday not that I am in a buying mode.

Looks like a Prospect to me. I found this article on them.

That reads like Ed himself wrote that. Next PSP, get Marv off in a corner and ask him about ER. Then step back. .......... :biggrin_mini:

As far as the Blues Deluxe, it IS at hear a Prospect, with ER's customizations. Most of which were great ideas, except for maybe some of his color choices. .......... :rolleyes_mini:

wasn't the blues deluxe basically a prospect with a solid center block like a 535? and maybe the super secret un-patentable "black back" pickups.

At one time this might've been true, and up until Heritage went through it's difficult period a few years ago, Ed did nothing but praise Heritage and their guitars. Behind Jay Wolfe, I believe that Ed was once the second largest retailer of Heritage guitars. However, during Heritage's setback, I recall reading some words from Ed that totally bashed the company. As we're all probably aware, Ed is quite an outspoken fellow, and if something rubs him the wrong way, he isn't afraid to say what's on his mind. Whether Ed and Marv are friends today, I don't have a clue, but I do know that they had a falling out of some kind not too terribly long ago. I've also noticed that Ed doesn't stock very many Heritages these days, either.

So which one plays the part of Elmer Fudd and the other Bugs Bunny?

I contacted ER several months ago and was told that he doesn't carry Heritage anymore. Don't know who I spoke to, but there wasn't a lot of joy in the conversation on the side of ER's staff. What a shame. Hate to hear anything difficult in conjunction w/ Heritage. But..I'm biased. Hope they fixed the problem.

Saw a you tube video of ed roman or his luthier, can't recall, shooting a Les Paul full of holes with a submachinegun. FWIW Was pretty entertaining.
