pushover Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 OSB = Old Style Burst Similar to a Tobacco burst, but nicer.. One of my favourite finishes.
GASguy Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 This is my 555 as an example of the OSB finish, it looks somewhat lighter in color due to the flash.
Blunote Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 As you can see, there's can be quite a difference in appearance from one guitar to the next. Here's mine: From time to time, I'll see a Heritage described as "Tobacco Burst". I always assumed then were referring to OSB. If Pushover is correct, maybe there is a separate Heritage finish called "Tobacco Burst".
tsp17 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 OSB - one of my favorites. Heritage does it beautifully.
GASguy Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 The color in this photo of my 555 in OSB is closer to the true appearance; the 150 next to it is in burnt amber finish.
pegleg32 Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Jeez, the guy asks a simple question and he gets a porn mag!!! Nice pictures fellow.
DetroitBlues Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I love that burst... So much better than the clown burst!
H Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Gold hardware really helps set off the finish! +1 I don't like gold hardware... except when it's sitting on OSB.
tulk1 Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 +1 I don't like gold hardware... except when it's sitting on OSB. I don't really care for the gold tone hardware at anytime. That's just me, tho'.
