Jazzpunk Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Finally scored this beautiful Heritage Eagle thinline from my uncle. I am one very happy camper today!
skydog52 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Congratulations Jazz! You have one nice Uncle. That one is a beauty!
MartyGrass Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Great guitar there. What's the label say? I'd like to know what Eagle variant this is based on. Thanks.
tulk1 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Whew!! What a beauty that one is Not really fancy. Just beautiful in it's simplicity.
schundog Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 What a beauty; Not the usual Heritage tailpiece, is it? It look Benedetto-ish or something...
Jazzpunk Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 Great guitar there. What's the label say? I'd like to know what Eagle variant this is based on. Thanks. Label reads: Eagle Classic 'Thin'
Jazzpunk Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 What a beauty; Not the usual Heritage tailpiece, is it? It look Benedetto-ish or something... My uncle had a custom pick guard made and switched out the tailpiece. I believe it is an Eastman tailpiece though I'd have to confirm that.
MartyGrass Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I also have one of the gorgeous TPs. What I don't like in my guitar is that the strings aren't grounded. Usually that happens with the TP. Wood won't conduct. You learn to touch your pups as much as practical.
MartyGrass Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Label reads: Eagle Classic 'Thin' That's what I thought. They added some nice MOP inlays.
Steiner Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Your Uncle is soundsofsheet? Beautiful guitar! Aesthetically, the Goldens have it over the Classic Eagles (not so much yours). Put on a blindfold and I can't tell the difference between the Golden and Classic Eagles. I'd love to try a thin line Eagle. Are you bringing it to PSP? Can I get on her dance card?
Jazzpunk Posted May 20, 2011 Author Posted May 20, 2011 Your Uncle is soundsofsheet? Yep. Unfortunately, smokin' fast chops are not hereditary.
bebove64 Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Beautiful amazing guitar You'd be proud to be the new owner of a previous "uncle Jack" guitar! Congrats
H Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Your Uncle is soundsofsheet? I thought he sounded pretty good, myself
Kuz Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Aaron, congrats on getting that one from Jack. I know how long you have wanted it, and it was certainly worth the wait. I had a smile on my face when I saw you scored this one, it should be a life-time keeper!!!
GrandpaLarry Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 The deep black of the ebony fretboard and tailpiece set against the natural finish is stunning. I'm certain it will provide you with years of pleasure. By the way, your photo is excellently done. You must be a man of many talents.
MartyGrass Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I thought he sounded pretty good, myself He didn't say sounds of shite!
Steiner Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I had an Uncle in the furniture business. They found him in his trunk. Finally scored this beautiful Heritage Eagle thinline from my uncle. I am one very happy camper today! With the 525 in your avatar and eagle shown here, I'd say you too have a propensity toward hollow body guitars. A Man after my own heart. I love 'em - and that one is a stunning example!
