If you look at the Heritage website, they still have on the home page, "25th Anniversary Model 535's and 150's available. I spoke to Graham at Wolfe Guitars yesterday and he told me they are still getting them, with AB serial numbers and they are up to number 150 on the 535's. So I guess they started with serial prefix Z for 2009 and then began sequentially numbering them, just changing the prefix to AA for 2010 and AB for 2011? And will 2011 will be the last year of their production, since this is their 25th year?

I've had 2011 (AB) production that were and were not 25th Ann. model designated. I think Wolfe tends to get better tops than standard anyway, and I get the impression that Heritage has been using the "upgraded" electronics anyway and will continue to do so. So I'm thinking that the 25th Ann. package kinda comes down to the signed certificate and the truss rod cover.

I might add that Graham tried to explain to me when I asked this same question something along the lines that Heritage starts off by allocating a block of serial numbers in advance and then just builds the guitars to those numbers. Sounds a little like the way Leo used to do it. Anyway, I'm a very black-or-white guy and I could see that a precise answer wasn't on the horizon so I just let it go.

It's all more than a little confusing.

If you look at the photos in my "At Heritage, No Customer Is Too Small" thread, you will see

a brand-new 25th Anniversary 535 sitting on the rack about 90% complete.
