DeLorean Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 I got the call Tuesday afternoon, so here are a couple pictures as promised. Both of these were taken in Kalamazoo this afternoon (Wednesday). First is just a quick body shot, showing the VWB finish and the P-Rails. Next (and last for the moment) is the Master himself holding this magnificent beast he created for me. Now I'm off to spend some quality time playing...
GASguy Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 What a beauty! Are those the triple shot mounting rings? Very cool and mucho versatility.
High Flying Bird Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Congratulations on this fine looking instrument. I am going to have to get me one of those one of these days.
yoslate Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Congratulations on this fine looking instrument. I am going to have to get me one of those one of these days. Get off it, will ya?
golferwave Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 OH YEA!! That is a beautiful piece of work! Look what you started Bird!
fxdx99 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 These pretzels are making me Thirsty! Man - I just love those 357s. Congratulations, D, on a fantastic guitar.
DeLorean Posted May 26, 2011 Author Posted May 26, 2011 It is nice to finally have this, I've wanted one for years and once I found out he would make them occasionally I had to go for it (sorry, HFB, you weren't the inspiration, but you were a tease...). Those are the triple shot rings, and yes there are a lot of sounds in there. Darn the storm rolling through, too much lightning to chance it any more for tonight...
JackBaruth Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 If yours plays half as well as mine, you are in for a treat. I haven't been able to put mine down, and it isn't as well-specified as yours. Marv called me today to make sure I was satisfied. I told him I would take another one as soon as he could finish it. He basically told me to get in line!
Guest HRB853370 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Wow, what is it with the 357 rage that is going on lately!! Is this Bird's fault? Or do we blame Brent? These things are popping up everywhere. I think the HOC is going to have to start a subset group called the H357OC! I want one too. And Jack, you already have a nice 357, don't be hoarding them. This is on my wish list big time. I just need the timing to be right, but I better not wait too long. Another magnificent piece of work from the master craftsmen in K'zoo!
DetroitBlues Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Wonderful.... these are some great pics.... The look on Marv's face says it all... "Yep, it's a Heritage."
Gitfiddler Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Another Sweet 357!! Congratulations. Play that baby until she begs you to put her down.
tulk1 Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Those are just some awesome guitars. What I like about it is you have to "be in the know" to even know you can get one. A Marv Lamb exclusive.
High Flying Bird Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 (sorry, HFB, you weren't the inspiration, but you were a tease...) Darn the storm rolling through, too much lightning to chance it any more for tonight... I didn't mean to imply I was an inspiration of the recent Firebird-fest. I saw Brent's and Paul's last year at PSP. My inspiration was the first guitar I owned, a 1965 non-reverse. I do have to say that my Marv Lamb Firebird is a much better guitar than the Gibson. It had a set neck instead of neck through body. I am a tease.... Those storms yesterday were pretty rough, even way down here in Alabama. We got lucky again.
DetroitBlues Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I really got to get one of those. But I really should try one first since I cannot go by looks alone...
