MartyGrass Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Courtesy of the NJ/NY Heritage rep. Pics from two days ago. This same rep helped resurrect the long tenon version of the H150. What a beauty!
donnie Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Wow, that's some really good stuff allright! Two questions: What kind of back is that? And, doesn't Marv wear any kind of a respirator when he's spraying that stuff?

kbp810 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 That is mine!!!! MARTY!!!!! (just joking, I was itching to see updated photos, so thanks!)

golferwave Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Thanks for posting those pictures. That guitar is going to be one superb piece when completed. Pride of ownership for sure.
schundog Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 That is looking WAAAY sweet, Brian. But something tells me your friend DetroitBlues is going to be majorly honked off if your 157 is finished and delivered before he gets his H-140 back from being refinished!

Funny thing is we were actually discussing that very same notion just now - he might even send these pics along in a nice little note asking for an updated ETA on it

But something tells me your friend DetroitBlues is going to be majorly honked off if your 157 is finished and delivered before he gets his H-140 back from being refinished! Too late. I sent these Pic's to my guitar guy as a little jab in the meantime. To say I'm peeved is an understatement...
FredZepp Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 HEY!!!! That's KBP810 H-157!!!! I thought that I recognized that top in pics 2 and 3... at every new update this one looks better and better.
MartyGrass Posted May 27, 2011 Author Posted May 27, 2011 That is mine!!!! MARTY!!!!! (just joking, I was itching to see updated photos, so thanks!) These are special pics for our family. Marv let my 9, 10 and 11 year olds spray the finish. Kidding.
DetroitBlues Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 I think that's what's taking my guitar so long to finish... My tech's kids are younger and need more time....

schundog Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Obviously, the only way to rectify the DB/KBP issue of KBP's guitar getting finished first is for KBP to give DB the 157 until DB's 140 is completed; something tells me, DB may then call his repair guy and tell him, "Take your time!"

I'll just borrow his H-150 because it won't get any love for a long, long time or until Brian wears down all the frets on the 157...

All those filters in front of Marv are part of an exhaust system which does a great job of keeping anything from moving Marvs way. Works great.
Gitfiddler Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 Wow, that is some really nice curl on that 157! Did you source the wood or did they already have that chunk of maple in their wood pile? That may turn out to be one of the most beautiful 157's to come out of Parsons Street!
brentrocks Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 That is mine!!!! MARTY!!!!! (just joking, I was itching to see updated photos, so thanks!) HOLY S**T...that is beautiful!!!!

That may turn out to be one of the most beautiful 157's to come out of Parsons Street! Thanks! I asked for an ultra quilted top, so Marv made a special order for it - it was bought sight unseen, but he assured me that it would either be stunning, or it would be sent back for another one that was! Then he even had Ren send me a picture of it when it arrived to make sure I was happy with it... what amazing service from a great group of guys that owed a joe smoe like me absolutely nothing!

Try to get that from Gibson, Fender, or PRS! You won't without refinancing your house!
rooster Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 That's really cool. It's the exact opposite of when I ordered my black-and-tan H150. I asked for the plainest, hardest piece of maple in the shop for the top, since it's getting painted anyway. It came out exactly as I had hoped, with a "chirp" off that top that neither of my other 2 H150s have; perfect for the '80s metal, and sustains for days. Not knocking a pretty top, but you order the wood for the sound that you need. Your's will probably be sounding nice and fat with lots of low-mids to rumble mightily. rooster.
