MartyGrass Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I'd like to get an amber one to replace the white one on this guitar. Thanks.
bebove64 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I'm positive it'll not be difficult to find an amber toggle switch cap....but just in case you you will not find it: http://www.mercatinomusicale.com/ann/search.asp?ns=1&rg=&pv=&kw=switch+cap&rp=&ct=&st=&__IDRegProv=&ob=data
DetroitBlues Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 You may not find one in amber, but if you soak it in coffee for a few days, it should darken it up.
MartyGrass Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 GIBSON PRTK-030 is available on amazon.com. Thanks. I like the coffee idea. Or maybe I could let it soak in a spittoon!
bebove64 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 GIBSON PRTK-030 TOGGLE SWITCH CAP - VINTAGE AMBER: http://www.samash.com/p/Gibson_PRTK030%20Toggle%20Switch%20Cap%20Vintage%20Amber_-49982252
Gitfiddler Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Sweetwater ships theirs for free. However, some of the Heritage (Schaller or Switchcraft) do not fit the Gibson amber tips. Different screw patterns.

big bob Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Mark I just happen to have an extra one, shoot me your address and I send it to you.
TalismanRich Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 I like the coffee idea. Or maybe I could let it soak in a spittoon! So this is going on a tobacco burst guitar?
DetroitBlues Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Let's know what you do, I'd really like to see the coffee thing. I've done it with strat pickguards before and it works well.
FredZepp Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I ordered some amber caps (made for a LP) from an ebay store and they worked fine. Mine came from a store called anthillmusic , but I can't find them on ebay anymore... hmm.

But there are lots of ebayers selling them. Just don't get one with Epiphone threads. EDIT... they do have them.. they call them an amber "knob" ..
