FredZepp Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Cool.... and not what I was expecting of " Sweet Child of Mine" when I saw the title. Sounds great.
JeffB Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Thats very cool. But if you cant afford a looper you do it like this.
FredZepp Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Thats very cool. But if you cant afford a looper you do it like this. yeah...that is a cool version also.
bobmeyrick Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 When I saw Martin Taylor perform "Down at Cocomo's" he claimed that he couldn't work a looping pedal so he had to do it the "old way" and showed how he would put the phrases together... ...talented b*st*rd! Love the key change.
bobmeyrick Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 You don't have to be a guitarist to use pedals - It may come as no surprise that Theo has worked in a duo with Robert Fripp.
DetroitBlues Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Just stumbled across this on You Tube Great way to play a classic song. Kept waiting for him to do something with all those capos.
FredZepp Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I like the KT music.. a good album. and the Martin Taylor vid was very cool. He seems quite the affable fellow and gets a great Caribbean sound with that muteing trick and the capo.
GuitArtMan Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Cool thread and some great links, but I have to ask - a thread about looping and no mention of Phil Keaggy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m2hoNVugKA
kbp810 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 Wow! Lot's of very cool videos followed my original post, great stuff!!! I think I'd take Igor's version of "Sweet Child of Mine" over the heavy looped version any day... but Phil's "Salvation Army Band" was rather quiet enjoyable!
bobmeyrick Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 ...Martin Taylor vid was very cool. He seems quite the affable fellow... If you get the chance to see him perform, do so. Not only is he jaw-droppingly good, he has lots of amusing anecdotes. For example, when he joined Stephane Grapelli there was no formal contract and after ten years he still wasn't sure if he was a full member of the group.
Kuz Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 When I saw Martin Taylor perform "Down at Cocomo's" he claimed that he couldn't work a looping pedal so he had to do it the "old way" and showed how he would put the phrases together.. ...talented b*st*rd! Love the key change. I love Martin Taylor, but I agree he makes it look TOO EASY. He is a talented B*st*rd!!!
Trouble Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Thats very cool. But if you cant afford a looper you do it like this. Wow! Guys like that make me wanna burn my guitars.
Trouble Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Scotland's very own KT Tunstall - queen of the looper! Serious talent.
DetroitBlues Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I've seen that Black Horse a few different times.
tulk1 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Those were all cool vids. Wish I had that talent. Then again, my instructor used to say there was no talent, just practice. I'd reply that you still need aptitude. He'd just look at me, smile and nod.
RJLII Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Serious talent. Not to sound like an old pervert, but kind of hot too
rjsanders Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 googling/youtubing Theresa Andersson may be worth your while; among my favorites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQyD2NXBm8s
