dblazer Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 It got here today, and it's a DEAD match for the size/shape/feel of the neck on my #1 Heritage. Sounds great, weight is 7.8 lbs, Jay, if you're out there, thanks for the adjustment (there's a sub-finish "ding" that appears to have gone unnoticed in Kalamazoo) but it gives the top edge of the lower bout character. The remainder of the fit/finish is excellent, as nice as the 'special' one from 12 years ago. Gotta go play it some more. twins2.JPG twins2.JPG_thumb
GuitArtMan Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Sweet! I love the trapezoid linlays on it.
dblazer Posted September 20, 2007 Author Posted September 20, 2007 Sweet! I love the trapezoid linlays on it. Thanks, it IS lookin' good. Part of the reason for the wait was to get a bound, ebony fingerboard with the trapezoids. The other guitar in the picture has 'filled' trapazoids, of my other two Heritages (now gone) one had rectangles and one had dots. I always liked the 'old school' look of the trapazoids. Couldn't be happier with it.
High Flying Bird Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Man you have two nice guitsticks there.
Thundersteel Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Nice axes! But they're backwards! ;D
Dick Seacup Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Nice axes! But they're backwards! ;D +1. I was going to photoshop them back the "right" way. Is the upper bout of the new 137 finished? It looks like the sunburst edge fades out near the waist. Maybe it's a lighting trick, though. Mahogany slabtop, wraptail, P90s *and* traps. Mmmmm. Great get!
Gitfiddler Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Awsome duo!! I found myself going back to the picture a few times. They are BOTH baddass! 8)

Jay called it a 'tobacco burst' and it contiues over the bout and fades appropriately on the back. Beautiful job. A little extra takes it from being a really nice looking guitar to a really great looking one.
Emmitt O. Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 That is a seriously nice guitar. Congratulations on a fine buy. I'm not sure, but an H-137 like yours may have to be my next purchase. Not that it will be any time soon, but darn I do like the looks of that guitar. How do the P-90 single coils sound? Snappy? I've never owned that style of P-90. I had a Gibson with P-100's in it but no the P-90's. Really curious. Our local guitar stores (Elderly and Marshall Music) does not carry any Heritage models right now. Probably can't get them. Take care. Emmitt O.

The pickups are nice, a little more grungy that the Seymour/Seth PAF's in the H-140, but they sound really clear on the high end, bass doesn't "block up". Having the two different sounds will be cool. I really like it a lot.
