schundog Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 FedEx delivered this today before I left for work. They were a day earlier than I expected! I'm pretty stoked, as I have been wanting a 150 for a while, even though my first love is 535 style. I got this one used from Shook494, and he certainly packed it well, and picked up a nice, new SKB case to ship it. Thanks man! Tone report later from the SD Custom Customs, we'll see if they work for me or not; otherwise, it's either SD Antiquities or Seth Lovers; from what I can gather, the only difference between the two of those is cosmetic.
yoslate Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Ooooo La La! Congrats! Beauty, 'dog! Looking forward to the aural shakedown.
FredZepp Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 You picked a great 150 to start out with ... for many reasons. I think that you'll find the SD custom custom to be quite nice.. we'll see what you think of it in that guitar. You were smart to jump on that one... a great deal too. Congrats... enjoy and share your thoughts.
brentrocks Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 you will love the SD BlackBacks!!! Nice 150 dude!!!
mars_hall Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I liked the Custom Custom I have in my 157v well enough to buy another and place it in my 150 LE. In the 157 it was a bit dark till I pulled the low K tone pot and went to 500K. Didn't have to do a think in the LE. Nice guitar!
kbp810 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 That top almost looks like I'm looking into a cold glass of ice tea, which makes this the perfect guitar for a hot day like today! Congrats!!!
GASguy Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Nice dark burst on that one, OSB? A real beauty, nice figure in the top and fret board as well. Congratulations!
koula901 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Congrats on the new edition to your Heritage family! Nice pics!!!
donnie Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Wow man, truly gorgeous! Is she sportin' a light back?
212Mavguy Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, Niiiiiice!
Steiner Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 A guitar collection without a 150 is akin to a bar without beer! Beautiful guitar! Enjoy
schundog Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Slightly hotter than Seths, dude. Right, Mark. I may have been unclear; I meant to say I thought I had heard that Seths and Antiquities were very similar in tone. It may have sounded like I meant Seths and Custom Customs were similar. Sorry for the confusion. OSB, light color to the back, with very little buckle rash/worming. Here's the back; Here it is with it's "kissing cousin," as we're referring to the other brand in the other thread. Just from holding them, I'd guess they are similar in weight; hefty! but so am I... It's set up WAY low, and as it was sent from Las Vegas, I may let it adjust to the sweltering humidity here in the Midwest before I start cranking on adjustments. Thanks for all the great comments, guys; You really are all very supportive!
Kuz Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Well, there is another 150 that doesn't suck! LoL Great snag there my friend!
Millennium Maestro Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I see what I didnt get!! The vegas Heritage that got away!
H Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Fantastic OSB is a big favourite of the forum and rightly so.
skydog52 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Nice one Brian, I love everything about that one. Enjoy that one!
