Gitfiddler Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 http://www.nzmusicia...i_articleid/310 The reviewer's conclusion says it all! "I would say this is probably the most versatile guitar I have ever played, and my hat is off to the good ol' folks back there in Kalamazoo. If the Heritage H-535 was designed with competition in mind, then in my opinion it is an improvement on the current model Gibson ES-335 and a serious contender for the big brand's market share. Reviewing an instrument of this quality is a pleasure, and confirms my long held belief that guitars should be chosen completely on the merit of the instrument, and not on a name."www.heritageguitar.com Leigh Jackson is a professional musician who is currently principal lecturer in Jazz Guitar at the Massey University Conservatorium of Music in Wellington. Blunote Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I did my best to spread the word when I was in New Zealand last Fall. That country is chock full of talented musicians; many home-grown & many imported from the U.S;
smurph1 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Man..That put a BIG smile on my face!! I think I'll go home and fire up the 535!!
FredZepp Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I would say this is probably the most versatile guitar I have ever played, That is cool. This reviewer "gets it". ... the Kalamazoo magic.
DetroitBlues Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think I've read the article before. I try to spread the word as much as I can. Here's a sad story, went to the Canton Michigan Guitar Center had a H-150 brought in, the manager had no idea who or what Heritage guitar was. One of his employees had to explain it to him. Since he didn't believe the employee, he only wanted to offer a couple hundred for a very fine H-150. The owner was insulted and left. I lost a lot of respect and loyalty from that Guitar Center after treating my friend like that....
blueox Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 It's always nice to see the rare review of a Heritage and to read the positive comments. Interesting too was the reviewer's mention that he " . . . tried this guitar through the same distortion pedal that Scofield uses (The Rat by ProCo), and was amazed . . . ". The ProCo Rat, of course, is also made in Kalamazoo, next door from Heritage at the 225 Parsons St. complex.

How about a Heritage ProCo Rat 150 Model, or a Heritage Ltd. Edition ProCo Rat 535 Model !! Each guitar would have a special rodent-shaped 12th inlay and come with a a FREE ProCo Rat pedal.

Maybe Heritage should loosen up a little bit with some limited runs and/or models that would differ a little bit from their consistent catalog offerings over the years. It would be fun to see Heritage offering a Rat in the case with a tweaked guitar.
