brentrocks Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 fresh in the house today!!! VSB Alex Skolnick H 150...
big bob Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 ok one more not really on topic but kinda a moon burst.
tbonesullivan Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Here's a good comparison. Sunsetburst on the left, almond sunburst on the right, and vintage sunburst in the middle.
kbp810 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Ah, yes one of my favorite finishes.... Q-Q-Q-Q-Q-QUILTED!!!! Not exactly on topic in regards to vintage sunbursts... but damn is that a sweet top Kuz
DetroitBlues Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Its very interesting how many variations there are to Vintage Sunbursts...
Halowords Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 That one looks vaguely familiar. So . . . Have you gotten sick of it yet?
Gitfiddler Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Wow, there are some real beauties in this thread!!
Halowords Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Its very interesting how many variations there are to Vintage Sunbursts... I'd agree. Here is my Prospect "Blues Deluxe." The label says VSB. In some light or at some angles, it looks more of a straight-up golden yellow or amber, others, it really shows that nice subtle darker burst. Overall, I think it is really pretty. There is a pretty decent range for the finish though.
fxdx99 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Man I just love Fred's 150. Maybe the nicest I've seen. 'Course H's ain't no fugly blister, neither... Here's another VSB. And one of a shady character trying to make off with it at PSPIII... nabbed him just in the nick of time.

FredZepp Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 VSB threads certainly generate some great Heritage porn... Here are full size versions of Marks 150... a very nice VSB example. And another pic of Randy's 525... it shows the finish off nicely...
DetroitBlues Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 I love the amber burst or straight out amber color!
bobmeyrick Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Here's my "150 in the UK". I've changed the switch tip from black to cream.
shook494 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 fresh in the house today!!! VSB Alex Skolnick H 150... This Skolnick is my dream guitar when I get the cash. That is just awesome Brent.
