nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Hey fellas, This beautiful piece of history and art has just joined the family. My wife went crazy about the color. I guess it's Pelham Blue, but it went a little green-ish through years and looks fantastic with those micro nitro cracks on it. I should thank to Brendt once more because of the effort he put in this off-shore sale. He separated the neck and the kahler from the body and packed every of them individualy with a brand new string set. But that's not all, the best part is 3 picks he throw in the pack. 2 of them has the HOC logo and the other one has The Heritage logo on them. I haven't seen any them around and I'm so happy to add them to my collection. Here is some fresh photos. Unfortunately, I managed to crack the E string immediately (I usualy use 11-52 on my axes)
FredZepp Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 You are certainly ready to rock with that one. And yes, awesome color. How cool ..one of those slightly different Heritage axes. And once it has gone through Brent's hands, it has been thoroughly gone over and is a great player, I'm sure. A Heritage with a Maple fretboard.. don't see those every day. Congrats.
MartyGrass Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I managed to crack the E string immediately (I usualy use 11-52 on my axes) Once Brent gives the thumbs up, you can relax! I love the simplicity of the electronics. What type of strings do you use?
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Actually, I'm not familiar with superstrats at all. I use Dean Markley Vintage Reissue 1975 (.11-.52) on my LP axes. The string set Brent sent me seems like .9 D'addario. Hopefully, this lady might push the limits to .10.
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 It is with me... That's what matters for now
brentrocks Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 i'm glad you like it...i had never shipped a guitar like that before witout a case and i was a little scared. Taking the neck off was definately a good idea.
MartyGrass Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 It is with me... That's what matters for now Ordered some Dean Markleys. The 11-52 should be about right for me. I got a couple of types- NickelSteel and Helix. Thanks.
barrymclark Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 So.... this guitar is in.... ? It is with me... That's what matters for now Click on the link. Great old swing tune.
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 I know the tune, thanks for sharing. It used to be quite popular here... Eventually.
JeffB Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Awesome score. Congrats. Enjoy that one. Hey, some clips would be great.
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Ordered some Dean Markleys. The 11-52 should be about right for me. I got a couple of types- NickelSteel and Helix. Thanks. I just ordered a couple of 10-46 sets for H-162. But I'll stick to those 11-52 sets for LPs.
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Clips would be great indeed. But first, I need to learn to play properly enough LoL.
big bob Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I hope you really enjoy this one, she is a rare bird indeed.
kbp810 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Clips would be great indeed. But first, I need to learn to play properly enough LoL. That hasn't stopped me
tulk1 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Thats quite the shredder looking guitar. Quite cool, actually. I'm using Dean Markley Vintage 1973s. Not sure what DM is doing different, but they seem to be doing it correctly. Just looked at the '75s. They look interesting. Might try those out. Bigger bottom, not so bigger top --- hmmmm.
nachogrande Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Thank you very much. I'll try my best to keep it, like forever Thats quite the shredder looking guitar. Quite cool, actually. I'm using Dean Markley Vintage 1973s. Not sure what DM is doing different, but they seem to be doing it correctly. Just looked at the '75s. They look interesting. Might try those out. Bigger bottom, not so bigger top --- hmmmm. I ordered 1973 for this lady and really love those 1975 big bottom, moderate top models (OMG. I'm not sure where this conversation will end up... ) Plus, they are rather cheap. I couldn't feel comfortable with Elixir's for instance. They are to tight for me, and IMHO, they don't chime like DM reissues.
