MartyGrass Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Here it is from 1994. 10.4 lbs with a medium neck. (I thought it would be beefier.) The control cavity plate sticker simply says white H157. It plays very well. There is lacquer crusting at the back of the neck heel, which is inevitable. Otherwise it is in showroom condition. The crusting case be eliminated with a touch of white nitro, but it will eventually come back, so I'm told. Here are some pics. They are from my cell phone. The best representation of the real color is the one with the guitar in the case. http://s796.photobucket.com/albums/yy249/mgoetting/White%20H157/
FredZepp Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 That one just has a LOOK to it. Sweet guitar. And it's 17 years old and looks to be in great condition.
tulk1 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I like that slight patina on the white. Very cool Whale you got there, Mark.
chico Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I like the last layer of black binding. The white whale, here's to ya..
schundog Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Super nice, Mark. I'd tell YOU to put it under the bed as a collector's piece, but I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off of it, if it were ME!
MartyGrass Posted June 22, 2011 Author Posted June 22, 2011 The seller was adamant that it was NOS. He buys musical instruments in lots and got this from a long closed shop. It looks like NOS. I pulled off the hardware to check for tanning lines. It was actually more yellow under the TP, probably from the oxidation. Pete Moreno checked it out today and gave it a clean bill of health. It sounds like a good H157.
High Flying Bird Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Arg! Is there binding on the neck? It looks good either way.

TalismanRich Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Hmmm..... would that make these fraternal twins?
heritagefan7 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 It doesn't even look like it has yellowed w/ age...that's incredible. Really special.
