Millennium Maestro Posted June 30, 2011 Author Posted June 30, 2011 Nooooooooooooo! No purple! Anything but purple! I vote for the Perry Boneyard finish....It's the ticket! Guarranteed no Purple.... I REally like the Boneyard, And have gotten good feedback from the boneyard too. KEEP EM COMING FOLKS!!!
mars_hall Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 This is the Top without any enhancing! Noticed the Cream,Black,Wht,Blk,White binding... Very cool Take another pic with less light or light from an angle and maybe on axis. We can play around with contrasts and hues in software, but there has to be some separation of the flames to make it work.

Maybe I will dampen the top to show more grains. Guy
FredZepp Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Yeah... I liked the idea of a burnt amber, but the Boneyard would be something different and would make the flames pop.
TalismanRich Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Maybe I'm turning into a traditionalist, but the Boneyard kinda turns me off. There's just so much going on. FWIW, I don't care for the Zack Wylde bullseye either. A nice vintage or SB, or the translucent colors are much better to me.
tbonesullivan Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 rubbing some naptha on the top should help you see what the grain will be like once finished. If it's got a nice regular flame pattern, tiger eye should work on it. Are you doing the finishing yourself, or is someone else doing it?
Gitfiddler Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 I agree there are several really nice Stock finishes... I am really looking for something unique, not everyday... possibly Dark in nature on top and clear on backside. Ps. I plan to share photos of the top... Really a treasure! Thanks OK, if you like a darker finish, one of my favorites is Chestnut Burst.
H Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hmmmm yeah, I'll take it off your hands for 10 bucks but only if you pay the shipping
tbonesullivan Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 IMHO, tiger eye would look killer on that. Maybe not as dark and yellow as the boneyard one, but more of the carvin style tiger eye would look smokin. staining and sanding down really make the grain pop.
yoslate Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 That bad boy is all about the wood, not the color. John's golden amber 575 looks fabulous! The back really pops!
