brentrocks Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I took a chance on a 2002 H 150 on craigslist...it was listed at $1000. I contacted the seller, we made a deal....he kinda soaked me for the shipping/insurance/box/PP fees....but i ended up getting it home for just under $1100 It turned out to be a good buy. Not mint, just a couple little bumps, nothing through the finsh. Stock Schaller pups, converted nashville tail and bridge, no fret wear. Its around 9 lbs and has a pretty skinny neck. A little checking by the headstock, but no signs of stress anywhere. A solid rocker for sure!!! Just honest, light play wear....and a monster top!!!
FredZepp Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Now THAT is a top. Man, that is very sweet. I love the looks of that one. Congrats on a lucky grab there, Brent.
H555rocks Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Sweet guitar Brent! You've gotta love that top! Great buy.
Hfan Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Nice deal. Glad it worked out. Is it up for adoption yet?
yoslate Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Gawd!!! Hope that isn't around at PSP! That could mean trouble for me! Stunner!!!!!!!!
DetroitBlues Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I think that is just how my h-140 should look when all is said and done. Great find!
kbp810 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 If you look up "monster top" in the dictionary... you will see a picture of this guitar! Daaaaaaaaammmmmmnnnnnn is that nice
Steiner Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 What? No stinger? Your chance buys are the best I've ever seen. Good work; again...
schundog Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 "These deals are getting harder to come by...." But if ANYBODY can find 'em, it's you, Brent! Nice grab, great top. Hang on to it awhile!
MartyGrass Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Excellent catch! $1100 is a great deal for a thin neck and that top. And the back is super, too. You did extremely well.

H Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I think you've been fitted with some sort of Heritage magnet, Brent. Fantastic guitar.

tsp17 Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 I think you've been fitted with some sort of Heritage magnet, Brent. Fantastic guitar. Some people are just gifted. Well done Brent (again).
schundog Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Thanks for the kind words fellas! I get this incredible sensation when i find a deal like this...its hard to explain. I get that sensation, too! For me, it's a combination of GAS relief, and "Holy Crap, my wife is going to KILL me when she see's another guitar box coming to the front door!"
brentrocks Posted July 2, 2011 Author Posted July 2, 2011 For those who poo poo Schaler puckups...take a listen...i was gonna pull them out, but im having second thoughts! The Amber H 150 through the Colonial 1/2 stack, a little Roadkiller OD, and Strymon ElCapistan tape delay echo... http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_9233326

I think the bridge totally rocked. However, I'm starting to wonder if pots/wiring/caps being swapped might of made a difference...
GuitArtMan Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 Brent, do you even keep count? It's not like "what did Brent buy this month?". It's not even like "what did Brent buy this week?" It's more like "what did Brent buy today?" You got GAS bbbaaddd!!!
