Petros Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I had the provoked of buying the first Heritage 530 with factory installed TV Jones pickups. The guitar was bought from Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter, Florida. To make this short, I have own many guitars in my life from cheap to very expensive ones. To be honest with you, the combination of body and pickups was long due. Heritage has definite winner on this one. I am very picky with what I play and this guitar has captivated my attention for the time I bought it until now. In one word "AMAZING". More info at later posting.
MartyGrass Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 How much does it sound like a good Gretsch? Sweet!
H Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Sounds fantastic If you don't mind me asking, what did it cost?
chico Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 another ringing H endorsement congrats photos when you get time
Petros Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 Thanks for your interst on the topic of Heritage 530. Marty sound is subjective but it does not have all the sounds a Gretsch can do but what it does is a very nice transparent sound that is pleasant to your ears. It is difficult to pit sound into words, but believe me, I can't put it down. Respectfully submitted.
Petros Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 Hi H, price will be on the 2 grandes but you get sound, satisfaction, mojo, and a lot more. Thanks.
Petros Posted July 18, 2011 Author Posted July 18, 2011 Hi Chico, you are right I am sold on this guitar. Keep music alive. Thanks.
Petros Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Well so far my H530 has been outstanding. Let me find out how to upload a couple of photos. I'll keep you posted
NoNameBand Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 How much does it sound like a good Gretsch? Sweet! Gretsch my as*, it sounds MORE like a great Heritage I'll bet. Sounds like Heritage may be heading for the Rockabilly guys. I know some of you were asking about possible mods a few months ago. Maybe you just need some TV Jones pups. Don't forget the Pics, we live for the pics.

Petros Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 This guitar fits my hand like a glove. Yes, Yes, it is a Heritage and I am very proud to own this guitar. I urge anyone out there to give a try to any Heritage, you will not be disappointed. No, I am not endorsed by Heritage. I know a good product when I try it and see it. Keep your Heritage alive!

Sad thing is, that is what the appealing factor just might be. Those sorts of genres are, unfortunately, really tied to a fashion show and that show extends to guitar, too. Gotta have this guitar, this amp and this pickup... and if it doesn't have a Bigsby, it ain't 'billy. Pfft. True you find that everywhere, but that really seems to dominate in the rockabilly world. The driving force behind Gretsch being the be all end all of rockabilly guitar is one name: Brian Setzer. Had he played something else, Gretsch would have died with nary a whimper decades ago.
Petros Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 Hi Barry, nice post. My question to you is, do you like Heritage or not? I respect everyones opinions because it is about what works for you. I am having a great day, I hope you are too. Take care.
RhoadsScholar Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I am enjoying my 530 with humbuckers. I was wondering which pickup setting you prefer with the TV Jones pickups. The neck pickup, both pickups, or the bridge pickup. You can't help but want to compare the TV jones setup to a Gretsch. I like the acoustic properties of the 530 vs a 535/555. I think it comes through electically although feedback needs to be controlled.
Petros Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 RhoadScholar, The reason I like my 530 is because the acoustic properties it has which comes through on the sound when plugged. The TV Jones are a match for this type of guitar. It sounds so good that it is what I am mainly using right now. I hope this answer your questions. Until next time.
