JackBaruth Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Couple of thoughts here: 0. The Heritage guys are out of the office and have been for at least a week. I know this because I'm trying to find out whether my Korina 357 (WITH THROBAKS, THX 4 ASKING ALTHO U DID NOT ASK) will be ready at PSP. So if this guy's been calling, he is getting no answer. 1. With that said, it's ridiculous to bash the company, the product, and the owners' forum before you know what the score is. He hasn't made much effort to find out the score. 2. I think in this era of identical Chinese-made perfected iPods we forget what guitars are. They are pieces of formerly living creatures (trees, animals... hell, if you buy a PRS Private Stock you can include dinosaurs and wooly mammoths) that are carved and assembled by hand. No two pieces of wood are identical. Nitro finishes are effectively living things, evaporating and changing over time. There's a reason Leo Fender ended up using laminated wood and automotive paint... you get consistent results from those processes.
tbonesullivan Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 It's more than just that. I don't think the threadstarter has made ANY attempts to contact either the store it was purchased from or the factory. Heck for all we know he hasn't even told his "friend" that mysteriously decided after a day that the color didn't do it for him.
DetroitBlues Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 +1000. We might have Palmetto bugs, and a few skeeters, but the ones in Michigan, OMG, they will pick you up, carry you off to the swamp, and suck you dry! What part of Michigan are you in???? Didn't anyone tell you to wear a bee keepers hat and long sleves when wandering our Urban Jungles???
NoNameBand Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I don't know about the original poster of this thread, but with my wife, when she complains about something, she doesn't want me to fix it, she just wants me to listen and be sympathetic. Maybe we got this guy all wrong. Maybe he just wanted sympathy. I'm just sayin.

I was admiring last night how precisely G&L puts a guitar together. They are close to interchangeable.

Maybe we got this guy all wrong. Maybe he just wanted sympathy. I'm just sayin. Yes, I agree and totally I get that. However, there was also a few clear-cut manners to solve his conundrum and personally I was just offering what seemed as an outsider to be his best option(s), as I believe were others. I am very sympathetic to the situation, and in fact that is why I prefer the forum allow these things to be posted. When done right, people can sort of vent, the forum can be supportive and not send threats or get too wound up, good solutions are offered, person-with-guitar-issues picks the best option, gets great resolution, shares it here, we all sing kumbaya around the virtual campfire and everybody's happy. I do think, if you air genuine grievances or issues (which I have no problem with at all, to be honest), you are kind of obliged (although not legally compelled) to let the person/company/etc. with whom you have said issues with a chance to make them right. That is really one of two things I would like to see here; Heritage gets a chance to make this right, plus see what the actual problem is in the first place, and that the guy gets a new guitar without issues right off the bat. Well, maybe also to have him tell us what the problem was and how it was fixed, and maybe stick around without getting mad at what we thought was the solution most likely to get it resolved in as clean a manner as possible.
smurph1 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 It was me. I just don't care for Celing Dion and I am willing to pick fights over it even against those who agree with me. I don't like her either, But I LOVE MARIAH CAREY!!

Jazzpunk Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Had I bought the guitar off the original owner, he'd be making things right by now. BTW, I've never heard of a guitar dealer that doesn't have a return policy on defective merchandise. How peculiar!
Jazzpunk Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Did you say cage match??? I say hell yes! Ok, you win!

Halowords Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Michael Bolton? From "Office Space"? Yeah. Why, is there some other Michael Bolton?

big bob Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 If he did get it from a dealer like Wolfe he should be able to exchange it, that is assuming they have other 555's. I have no idea why he would call the factory, this is a dealer problem. If your new car broke down on the way home from work would you try to call Ford! He has plenty of options. If it was me I would see if I could exchange it. If exchange is not an option I would think the dealer could contact Heritage and he could ship it to Heritage from his house at the dealers expense for warranty work. Sounds like this guy just want's to stir the pot..

Of course, I've got a Subaru, but still . . .
Dick Seacup Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Michael Bolton? From "Office Space"? No, the other no-talent, ass clown.
yoslate Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 No, the other no-talent, ass clown. Ah, yes...the other appellation I like as much as "ass hat," though somewhat less obscure!
kbp810 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 No, the other no-talent, ass clown. That comment is going to go over to well with the Bobs
schundog Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Michael Bolton? From "Office Space"? "Why should "I" have to change "my" name?! "HE'S" the one that SUCKS!" Sounds like someone needs a little Time, Love, and Happiness.......
schundog Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Did you say cage match??? I say hell yes! See, Lance, this is what I'm talking about; you shave part of your beard, and you have a COMPETELY different appearance!
barrymclark Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Every thing must change! Starting with your gallery, Lance. There are two GLARING omissions in there. Ol' Blue is not there and I went there to get an eyeful of your noncircumsized 575M and .... NADA.
